Here are the preliminary results of the recent tournament we had.

Congratulations to Alex Harmon for taking it all!

This is who came, and what I could figure out what they were playing. We

had people coming from all over Southern California as always
(Riverside, San Diego, Orange County, Glendale/Tujunga/etc.). But the
real happy surprise were Alex and Fedi from Italy who are traveling
around the West Coast and playing some V:TES along the way. Thanks for
coming guys!
Incidentally, about your decks, if I am wrong, please please please
e-mail me and I will let everyone know the real deal.

Name - basic clan/idea/discipline; combat style; how they oust their
prey. My comments.
Marcos Acevedo - Nos princes; run away and gate you; stealth and
Ancillas.
Curt Adams - Ventrue!; fortitude; dom and pulse bleeds. Lazverinus
w/Pulse - scary!
Steve Bucy - He played your deck; don't know; Spirit Marionette,
Agaitas, Ian Forestal. I think it had some stealth bleed in the form of

Dom and Nec, but not sure.
Steve Fazio - Arika; Majesty et.al; Bleed you for 3, freak drive,
ancilla, freak drive, etc.
Alex Giogoli - Settites; don't know; I assume tempt and bleed.
Alex Harmon - Malkavian!; avoid; Stealth bleed
Dan Harting - Settites; don't know; Temptation nastiness.
Paul Johnson - Brujah weenies; it's a bomb it's a bomb it's a bomb! (as
well as other equipment); survive until there are just two, and maybe
Life Boon along the way, and then just bleed you out with 1 bleeds.
John Knowles - Giovanni; what you expect; what you expect. John often
plays this Giovanni deck, which has very scary potence combat in it.
Jeremy Lance - A fortitude thing. Jeremy had to leave after the 1st
round, and was ably channeled by Robert Acevedo in the 2nd round, but
then he had to leave too.
Dennis Lien - Synesios denial deck; avoid; prevent you from doing stuff,

graverob your vamps, and then bleed you with your own guys.
Gene Martin - Anarch Dominate cheese; avoid; Anarchs and Dominate.
Fedi Neri - Tzimisce Stealth Bleed; Meld w/Land, Chiropteran Marauder;
Changeling, Plasmic Form. Surprisingly effective in Fedi's hands.
Mike Nilsen - Gargoyle Breeder; Burst of sunlight; get about 20 minions
and then come down on you hard.
Anthony Orozco - Brujah Europrinces; Potence/Cel nasty; torpor your
vamps, then take you out.
Jeff Poole - Tzimisce Intercept; Vic/Ani/aus combat; Block you and then
put you away. Jeff's first V:EKN tourney, and he got 4 VP. He was the
only player to get at least some VP in every round.
Jeff Small - Brujah! fighter; Brujah pot/cel combat; torpor or burn you,

bleed for 1. Also his first tournament, his deck was optimized for
smaller table size.
Stuart Smith - Malk/Malk!/Tor AUS deck; avoid; Malkavian Games, Pranks,
etc. Very annoying, esp. in Stuart's hands, who plays it very well.
Keith Thompson -
Wade Von Grawbadger - Malkavian Mind Rape; Obedience; Judgment of
Camarilla, mind rape your vamp, then burn it to get rid of judgment.
The only other pure Cam decks yesterday were Steve Fazio's and Marcos
Acevedo's.

I will let others chime in with feedback if they like, but the funniest
play all day was Paul calling 5 Autarkis Persecutions at the end of the
game and him ending with over 100 pool (and Mike Nilsen having *even
more* than that!).

Place after 3 preliminary rounds:

Name - Table Wins - VP - TP - Place after Prelims
Marcos Acevedo - 2 - 8.5 - 174 - 1
Alex Harmon - 2 - 8 - 156 - 2
Steve Bucy - 1 - 6 - 126 - 3
Gene Martin - 1 - 4.5 - 120 - 4
Fedi Neri - 1 - 4 - 126 - 5
Dan Harting - 1 - 3.5 - 120 - 6
Jeff Poole - 0 - 4 - 150 - 7
Wade Von Grawbadger - 0 - 4 - 126 - 8
Dennis Lien - 0 - 2.5 - 126 - 9
Anthony Orozco - 0 - 1.5 - 102 - 10
Steve Fazio - 0 - 1.5 - 102 - 10
Curt Adams - 0 - 1.5 - 96 - 12
Paul Johnson - 0 - 1 - 106 - 13
Alex Giogoli - 0 - 1 - 90 - 14
Keith Thompson - 0 - 1 - 84 - 15
Mike Nilsen - 0 - 0.5 - 78 - 16
John Knowles - 0 - 0 - 76 - 17
Jeff Small - 0 - 0 - 70 - 19
Stuart Smith - 0 - 0 - 54 - 18
Jeremy Lance - 0 - 0 - 42 - 20

Both Jeff Poole and Wade von Grawbadger had as many or more VP's and
Table Points, but could not get that elusive Game win. Dan had a Table
win, but could not get extra VP to go up on Fedi, so Fedi went to the
final.

So the Finals in order of seeding were:

Marcos, Alex, Steve, Gene, Fedi.

Fedi and Gene basically had no choice. Steve did not know what Fedi's
deck did really, having never sat at a table with him. Because of this,

he chose to be Fedi's prey. Alex knew that Gene's deck would have
Master jam, and he would run out of those deflections. Marcos had not
played Alex, but decided to be his predator instead of prey.

So the final table seating was

Marcos => Alex => Gene => Fedi => Steve (=> back to Marcos)

After about 10 minutes, Gene still didn't have any Anarch Revolts in
play, so I knew he was going to have trouble. Fedi managed to oust
Steve, and then Alex's stealth bleed Malki antis swept the rest within
an hour or so.

So the final results were

Alex Harmon 1st
Fedi Neri 2nd
Marcos Acevedo 3rd
Steve Bucy 4th
Gene Martin 5th

Second tournament in a row here at Third Planet that the Malkavian Antis

have stealth bled their way to victory.

Best -

Chris

PS If Alex sends me his deck, I will post both Mike Nilsen's January
winning deck, and Alex's.

Some minor corrections/additions:

Dan Harting: Lasombraish vote deck with Honor the Elders, KRC, and obedience.

Keith Thompson: Malk S&B&intercept.

Jeff Poole had a very substantial forward component to his deck (Changeling,
Pulse, Plasmic Form).

I now have to issue some errata to my original post...

No Ancillas, just laptops and retainers.

Dawn OP and Anesthetic Touch, no Nec.

Very high stealth & Bleed

> Dan Harting - Settites; don't know; Temptation nastiness.

Whoops! Lasombra Voter w/ Obedience. It must not have worked in round 3,
becuase he had no vamps for the last 25-30 minutes of the game...

Add princes and traditions to the mix.

> Keith Thompson -

Whoa, I must have missed here. Malkavian Toolbox.

Dennis says, and I quote: "I protest! The funniest play of the day was me
Far Mastering Akhenaten and then immediatly using him to Daemonic Possess
Pochtli."

These two should obviously be reversed.

Sorry. Deck lists soon, I hope. (Alex?)

Anarch Revolt, January 2002. By Mike Nilsen.

This is the exact deck I used during the tourny, there were some changes
from the normal version as I'm experimenting with it some. The beauty
of this deck is you can bleed anyone(gaining pool) and reverse alot, thus
even with little or no votes(5 max) or combat you can still have a say in
whats going on. In this Tournament, the second qualifing round and the final

round I back bled almost the whole time.
