Tournament report+TWD : Baal's Bloody Talons, April 12th 2008, Paris

Report of the sanctioned tournament "Baal's Bloody Talons" that was held on
saturday, april 12th in Paris, at the shop Troll2Jeux.

21 players gathered for this tournament, organized and judged (well, judge
number 1 using multi-judge system) by meh.
1GW4.5VP was needed to enter the final.
Seating
Jerome (Kyasid and Lasombra S&B, 5th seed) -> Reyda (!Tremere with
Valerius/Uta toolbox, 3rd seed) -> Antonio (Imbued wall, 4th seed) ->
Jean-Noel (an oldbie making his first tournament in 3 years, Trem/!Trem
Cryptic Mission attrition, 2nd seed) -> Krid (weenie animalism with War
Ghouls, 1st seed)

Jerome got 3 vampires out, Reyda got Uta and 2 other vamps, Antonio got the
usual Travis/Jenny/Paul trio, Jean-Noel had weenie Trem/!Trem, Krid
influenced a ton of vampires with inferior animalism and also Devin Bisley
and Calebros.
As Krid employed an insane amount of Raven Spies, Jean-Noel couldn't do much
against him and went to blood/doll mode to outnumber Krid's minions. Krid
bled at a steady place in-between employment actions. Reyda got Pentex'ed a
few times (mostly so Antonio could get Travis' special action done and also
get Champion), but still tried to block Antonio's actions while he could.
After about 1h, Jerome was quite low on pool and lowered himself even more
via Vessels to pay for his actions modifiers and succeeded in his last-ditch
attempt to oust Reyda. His new prey, Antonio, was at 4-5 pool, Jean-Noel
still didn't find a way to get past Krid's 4+ minions with Raven Spy, the
new situation only delayed Krid in slowly but surely ousting Jerome (Jerome
ran out of either bleed or stealth or blood and couldn't beat Antonio's
defense setup, especially Champion), about 20 mn or so before the time limit
; he also had recruited War Ghouls that back-rushed his predator Jean-Noel.

Then the game slowly went to time limit ; Jean-Noel did try at some point to
Cryptic Mission Krid's minions or to get allies like Succubus but was
blocked each time. Jean-Noel, with all but 1 vampires in torpor or
something, transferred out after Antonio convinced him he might oust Krid in
the duel, but then the game went to time limit.

Final standing : Krid 1.5VP ; Antonio 1.5VP ; Jerome 1VP.

Krid wins the tournament, congratulations to him! He wins a Werewolf RPG
book, courtesy of the player Herve Guillemet (thanks to him for providing
this prize support), 3 boosters of recent expansions and 1 jyhad booster.
The other finalists got 6 promo cards and 2 boosters.
All the other players got 1 promo card and 1 booster.
Finally, the player Quentin, who got no victory points, wins the special
prize awarded to the players playing the most Baal's Bloody Talons in the
preliminary rounds (a 20 euro wazzit thing to buy...err...stuff in the shop
that was the venue).
Thanks to the shop Troll2jeux (http://www.troll2jeux.com) for their constant
hospitality (in Paris, about 1 tournament is run each month thanks to them,
we'd definitely wouldn't have so active players without them) and to Jerome,
Orian, Antonio, Ankha and Arnaud for judging.
Our Prince of Paris is kind of busy, so I cannot guarantee when the results
will be entered on WW's site.
