II: Fiction

Subject: Apprehension of Virstania
My most gracious elder,
Thank you for taking the time to read the insignifigant words of your
lowly servant. I have taken the time away from my hunt for construct
007i to update you on the occurrences during our most recent encounter
with the gargoyle known as Ferox.
Alastor Hector Trelane and I were able to track Ferox down to a haven
outside of El Paso, Tx in the Hueco Tanks National Park. Once there,
we cornered him and began our assault. I know this may sound
impossible but you may have heard rumor’s of his eyes glowing with
infernal power. It is true. He has been consorting with demons most
vile and used his infernal powers to foil our thaumaturgical rituals.
Hector barely escaped with his life. When he attempted to use spirit
thaumaturgy to step over to the realm of the dead, Hector failed and
would have been destroyed had I not used the assault rifle that I had
in my possession to distract him.
I beg your forgiveness for my failure and request a second chance to
atone for my error.
III: Card of the Month
Chain of Command
Hot! Hot Card! Now at on your initial take, you think, “Why would I
play this when I can Govern out a vampire for the same cost?”. There
are a couple of reasons.
1) Chain of Command pulls out Vampire that can act immediately
2) Chain of Command pulls out Vampire that Vampire is entirely
disposable. So you can use them for things like Bleed, Daring the
Dawn.
3) Chain of Command pulls out Vampire that only cost you 1 blood and 0
pool. So if you can contrive to burn them, then you have created a
resource (burned vampires) that you can use for other purposes
(Possession, Mark of the Damned, Pere Lachaise, France….).
IV: Vampire of the Month
Ferox, The Rock Lord Advanced
Clan: Gargoyle (group 2)
Capacity: 7
Disciplines: FOR POT VIS ani
Advanced, Independent: Minions opposing Ferox in combat cannot play
cards that require Necromancy [nec] or Thaumaturgy [tha]. He cannot
commit diablerie. Flight.
[MERGED ICON] Ferox gets +1 intercept when attempting to block (D)
actions.
Okay, so while not as good as regular Ferox, unless you are seeing a
lot of Necromancy or Thaumaturgy Combat, He is quite awesome for
merging. Getting an inherent +1 intercept on (D) Actions is awesome!
Having a minion who younger vampires must burn one blood to block, can
rush the vampires of the most powerful tournament winning decks (Nossie
Princes), is immune to Dawn Op/Weather Control, Can’t have his
fortitude hosed by Thaumatury, nor his strike hosed by Necromancy S:CE
or Dodges. He is quite a powerhouse against a plethora of Tournament
strong decks Giovanni Stealth Bleed, Nossie Princes, Ventrue Law Firm,
and EuroBrujah.
He is definantly worth a spin.

VI: Gargoyle Recipe
Now that Martha Steward hasn’t been paroled, Virstania will be taking
over with this month's home improvement treats. This month it is Deep
Fried Cajun Injected Turkey. It tastes better than victory over dirty
Stealth Bleeders.
Ingredients:
1 Cajun Injector Creole Butter 16oz with Injector
1 12-16 lb Turkey
1 8oz canister Cajun Injector Quick Shake
1 Cajun Injector Turkey Fryer
3-4 Gallons of Cooking Oil (Peanut Preferred)
Directions
1. Remove Giblets and Rinse Turkey with warm water. Drain Cavity
Completely.
2. Attach needle to injector by turning clockwise until snug. Do not
over tighten needle.
3. Pour needed marinade into separate container and draw into injector.
4. Inject Turkey 3 times in each breast using the full injector.
Pushing plunger down wwhile pulling injector slowly out of the meat.
Inject each thigh using same technique. Inject each leg with full
injector
5. Sprinkle outside of turkey generously with Cajun Injector Quick
Shake seasoning and rub in well.
6. Prepare to fry turkey. Caution: Make sure that all water is drained
from breast cavity before deep frying. Heat Oil to 350 degrees
Fahrenheit. Deep fry the whole turkey in 3-4 gallons of oil at 350
degrees Fahrenheit for 3 and ½ minutes per pound or bake in
conventional manner
7. Enjoy with Family and Friends

An interesting idea.
The 3 non-Slave Gargoyles can bleed for 2 as an (D) action that costs
a blood with Virstania in play. This will easily enable them to burn
with the Daring the Dawn modifiers.

Unfortunately, you cannot tap the Chained vampires so that they can
use the Force of Will cards.

"Chained vampires cannot Force of Will, since that is a non-mandatory
action. By the time you could play Force of Will, all of the Chained
vampires will be back in the crypt (except the ones that had already
burned themselves or removed themselves from play, of course)."
You will need to look for another way to remove that last point of
blood, probably Neutral Guard, as they all have fortitude, or Skin of
the Chameleon if your group plays with lots (and I mean lots) of
allies.
I'd use the Neutral Guard, myself.

Definitely consider a Secure Haven.
Without Virstania you will be seriously screwed.
Consider a copy of The Coven to get that two blood you will need to
make the Possession action happen.
Consider some Dominate discipline masters in order to get Virstania
older than Ferox, and to enable the Chain to be played for free to get
1 vampire into play.

I fear that this deck will be too slow.
If Virstania is taking a Magic of the Smith action, she will not be
taking a Chain of Command action. If she isn't taking a Chain of
Command action, you will have put no pressure on your prey. While
that can work out for you in a 5 player game, it may also give your
prey too much time to bulk up and run forward.
I feel that the deck would be much stronger with Muaziz, Cardano, or
Ulugh Beg at the helm, as they can take that Magic of the Smith action
to acquire the Ankara Citadel and then Freak Drive for free and take
the Chain of Command action the same turn.
Carpe noctem.

You are right. I was not planning on having the chained vampires use Force
of Will. It is a good way to speed up the deck. You can have a Gargoyle
take the "freedom" action then Force of Will or have a Gargoyle that Hunted
then Force of Will.

You are correct. I posted it without taking it all in perspective. I would
replace 25% with Neutral Guard and 25% with Day Op.

If I had rush in my group I would, but it a good general suggestion for any
one-pony deck

Well, I was focusing on Gargoyles and Virstania makes them a lot better. I
am kind of burned out on Muaziz as she is in every Gargoyle deck I make. I
could add her but she can't be chained out. Adding a Dominate card is a
great idea, although a little prayerish. The deck is slow, but you only
influence out 1 vampire so it has a huge pool cushion to get up and running.
