What happens if a minion declares an action using an action card, and
while doing so, burns a blood to activate Flaming Candle (burn a blood
when you declare an action to make the action unblockable by vampires
and burn the candle), and then someone else decides to use a Direct
Intervention to cancel the action card?

I'd think that as DI is played as "a minion card is played", it cancels
the action card before the Flaming Candle is activated, but as Flaming
Candle is used "as the action is announced", it might be faster than DI.
Or not.

What happens?

The minion with the Candle keeps it.

Nothing is faster than DI.

The minion with the Candle keeps it.

Except the Sudden Reversal that cancels the D.I :)

Cool. Thanks. So what happens to the blood that gets burned?

A) They never actually had time to burn the blood (as the DI beat them
to the punch)?

B) They get the blood back?

C) They burn the blood as that is part of the candle but noth the
cancelled minion card?

I figure that if the action gets DI'ed, you never actually have the
opportunity to declare the use of the Flaming Candle, so no blood gets
burned. But I might be wrong.

Correct (A).

Ok... so I assume the same thing applies to stuff like tapping Creepshow
Casino and playing an action card which gets DI:ed; the Creepshow does not
tap, right?

I think I ruled this one wrong in our last storyline tournament. Oh well.

Right. For playing an action card, "as the card is played" comes before "as the
action is announced".
