I want to thank everyone who attended this first tournament in
Gothenburg after a couple of months of downtime. You're what makes
these events great. Extra thanks to Isak, Ida, Erik, Adam and Anders
who made the 300 km trip (one way) from Örebro.
I also want to mention that Isak Bjärmark Esbjörnsson had designed 3
of the decks played in the finals. A great feat indeed!
TWD
Deck Name : Nihil Sine Deo!
Author : Alex Ek
Description : Wanted to try out "My Kin Against the World" and decided
to go the Lutz route. Built a decklist and then assembled a worse
version of that list the night before the tournament (worse since I
didn't find all the cards I needed and was too tired to opt the list).
There are numerous things I would change on this 5 am build:
Crypt - Was alright. Would probably switch a Tryphosa for another
Rachel since that +1 bleed can be really nice.
Masters - One of the Covens should ofcourse be another Giant's Blood
since Villein + Giant's Blood is broken. There also needs to be
another Villein in the deck.
Actions: I think the deck would do fine with one KS less.
Political Actions: An Anarchist Uprising needs to be added. The
Ancilla Empowerment was a last second addition and as expected it
turned out great. My Kin was decent but I'm not sure it's actually
strong enough for the deck. Will keep them for now.
Action Modifiers: The Telepathic Vote Counting's were too few to
matter. Remove them! If you get votelocked you should use your social
compentence to help you do some beneficial voting.
Reactions: More Wake + Bounce would be nice but I'm not sure it's
possible to fit them in there. If not able to increase their numbers I
think I would go 3 wakes with 4 bounce to increase the chances of
holding the Wake + Bounce combo on my hand.
Finally getting the deck down to 65 cards at most is a must.

Thanks to Erik Torstensson for some of his decklists providing
inspiration!
Thanks to Adam Esbjörnsson for some late night discussion about the
deck!

As usual you can read a tournament report from a loser's point of view
at: http://beerandjyhad.blogspot.com/2010/08/resurrection-gothenburg-tournament.html
/ Stefan
After viewing your Lutz deck it seems fairly powerful, however, it
seems that against heavy intercept/combat that this deck will fold
(ie. Carna or Toreador guns). My version I won a tournament with was
posted here (I wish we could do something other than copy and paste),
http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/browse_thread/thread/9fc97fb83aaa666a/aa0e9bc1add7c368?lnk=gst&q=erie#aa0e9bc1add7c368,
and while it is 90 cards it has plenty of cards to deal with many
situations and I have better vote control to a degree as some of your
titles are only worth 2, yet cost 10 pool for the vamp. I am trying to
think about the cost and I see the villeins, but only one voter
captivation is bold. I might have gone 2 in the size deck. I know part
of it is play style and I have to start aiming for 80 cards or less
decks if I want better card flow. The only decks I won't do that with
are ones I churn cards heavily with and always go through 90% + of my
deck. Perhaps my thought partially is that not only am I prepared for
multiple situations, but if I have to bounce against a heavy bleeder
that is why I will have 8 bounce as well as the 8 Majesty for combat.
I would love to actually count how many majesty's and bounce I use in
a game though and if it is half the amount then why not cut down a lot
of card ratio's? Your deck definitely has me thinking. And congrats!
Dude! I strongly suggest more liberal usage of the enter key ;)
Regarding stealth I run 14/67 (compared to your 14/90) which was
plenty during this event. A tournament that featured several intercept/
combat decks. With Lutz you'll be able to make your actions count
since they'll do insane amounts of damage. Also, Banishment and Pentex
helps alot when breaking down walls. But yeah, heavy block would be a
pain if seated as your first prey.
Votelock can be a potential problem. You usually get 6-8 votes on the
table and that's not enough to ensure votelock every game. I do
however think you'll be able to pass most of your votes if willing to
tabletalk. Also I completely forgot about Legendary Vampire when
building this vote/snb deck, lol, so getting that in there to help out
might be a good idea.
1 v-cap is just for the sake of it. It's a crazy strong card so why
not play it when having a PRE-vamp and lots of votes in most games.
Villein's and ofcourse Parity Shift's are key to the win here. Really,
Parity Shift is awesome. I mean like top 5 of all cards in the game
kind of awesome. I'm surprised to see it's not in your deck.
Regarding decksize you should never go above 75 cards if not playing
with liquidations. Then you might be allowed to go up to 80 :)
The lack of combat defense was a meta choice. I didn't expect any
combat I wouldn't be able to handle with tabletalk. Going for a more
Maris heavy build using Mental Maze would probably be a good idea in
other meta's. Also, Maris is a pain, so going Maris/Mental is probably
good in most meta's.
Thanks for the congrats and thanks for taking the time to comment.
