In a tournament featuring a TWD of KS + Dominate + Obfuscate, I'd love
to know how many VP's a great DoC Trophy deck scored across the day.

1GW 5VP for DoC Trophy deck and it has a good chance to win a final
but odds were reduced by nasty Carlton van Wyk and his diablerie
special.

That doesn't make sense to me. Carlton is an easy Red List target and
totally targetable by Shattering Crescendo. I'd think that having him
show up in someone's ready region would make a SC deck happy, not sad.
Was there some other detail I'm missing?

committed diablerie since your last turn.
Last sentence. Recruit Carlton and burn him at the end of the turn to
burn a diablerist.

Odds are, the deck was based upon diablerie, and carlton entered play
after red list action was successfully played (and further attempts
were blocked with domain/eyes of argus/carlton/dark influences/
obedience (or shattering crescendo was blocked with those cards?).
Anyway, Jakub said DoC deck was close to succeed.

Right. Which is why you kill him with a Shattering Crescendo before
you diablerize anyone. And since he's an ally, you can Red List him
first to get a trophy while doing so. My question was why that didn't
happen.

Probably because the Daughters player diablerised someone and there
were no Carlton on the table. Carlton was then recruited and burned as
per his card text during the same round by another player. Hard for
the Daughters player to burn him in the only turn he is on the table
(unless of course Scout has two Master: Discipline cards and Enkil
Cog). Typical problem for all diablerie decks.

Ah, okay. The phrase "reduced its chances" makes me think that Carlton
didn't pop up suddenly and do his thing on the same turn, which is why
I was asking why he'd been such a monkeywrench.

No, just remembering a previous discussion with people in my playgroup
why its nearly impossible to make a diablerie trophy deck. "Any deck
could recruit Carlton and then you're screwed". If there is a trophy
player at a game I play and I have Carlton in hand, I will surely wait
for the right opportunity before recruiting him.

Carlton doesn't need to be on the table to blow up people that are survived
(or are immune to) bloodhunts.
His mere existence makes Trophy decks that rely on diablerie basically
useless. So what's left is Red Listed Informants.

Exactly. "Reduced chances" refers to fact that DoC trophy deck with
Scout Youngwood burned, has big problem with winning a table.

Thanks to Sbodek for organizing a great event, which was in fact a
week of nightmares (Monday-Sunday VTES camp with hectolitres of
beer,vodka,whiskey, tequilla and other stuff :D).
Erol's deck (played by Mirumo) looks really great and it's very
difficult to play against. Congratulations to Jakub for winning 2
tournaments in a row, which will probably give him a slot for the
Legendary Vampire tournament in Paris.
P.S.I managed to score 3 GW 11 Vp with Death Star deck (Rabbat also
scored 3GW11VP) but I got killed by Josette deck (WTF ?? :)) as none
of my 7 boons appeared in first 30 cards I've played.,

This problem can be easily solved by having your own Carlton on the
table or keeping DI/ Dark influences for the critical turn.

I play Tariq decks. a LOT. Anyone who gives that solution has most
likely not played them competitively lately or recnelt, as carlton is
in just about every single game i have been in lately.
He also tends to screw over my Trophy deck quite badly, to say the
least
