Most of the cards are anniversary editions of original Jyhad and old
V:TES core set cards. The cards are re-designed to use the new layout
and clan backgrounds and the card text is updated for any errata or
clarifications.

that is not to clear.
most cards?
maybe lsj you can answer this one question:
will sabbath cards (e.g. nephandus) be reprinted?

It looks like you want to trade your Nephandi away before they get
reprinted...
I offer you a Renegade Garou for each of them? Deal? ;-)

You stopped reading too soon.

"This anniversary release has 2 sets of cards. These are fixed sets or
factory sets of 100 cards in each set. Most of the cards are

anniversary editions of original Jyhad and old V:TES core set cards.
The cards are re-designed to use the new layout and clan backgrounds

and the card text is updated for any errata or clarifications. There
are 90 different anniversary cards in each set, so 180 cards between
the two sets combined. The other 10 cards in each set will be new
cards. These will be the same 10 new cards in both sets.

At least how I read it, it's '100 cards in two sets. Most (90 each,
total 180) will be Jyhad/VtES reprints in the new format. The other 10
in each will be the same 10 new cards.

Which would seem to indicate that no, Nephandi and other DS/AH library
cards will not be reprinted.

BUT!

The sets apparently _will_ contain some of the missing DS/AH/Sabbat
vampires that have not yet been reprinted:

"phildgir (May 18, 2004 7:00:59 PM)
Will we see rare Sabbat ed. vampires like Genevieve in the 10th
anniversary release?

L. Scott Johnson (May 18, 2004 7:01:28 PM)
As many vampires as we haven't yet reprinted from WotC's days, yes.

L. Scott Johnson (May 18, 2004 7:01:44 PM)
(Barring maybe one or two, maybe)."

So at least some Sabbat cards will apparently be reprinted in the
10thAnn set, even if it doesn't include Nephandus. And no doubt more
official details will be coming soon.

Is it a language misunderstanding, or could Sabbat Wars be considered as a
"VTES core set" too ?

From the devlopers' chat
(http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/chat/20040518.html), we get only this
hint:

phildgir (May 18, 2004 7:00:59 PM)
Will we see rare Sabbat ed. vampires like Genevieve in the 10th
anniversary release?

L. Scott Johnson (May 18, 2004 7:01:28 PM)
As many vampires as we haven't yet reprinted from WotC's days, yes.

As therer still seems to be some talk about doing a reprint of Sabbat
War, I do not think WW is going to include cards from Sabbat War - but
the promise made above (re-releasing some hard-to-get-vamps from
Sabbat) is quite fine for me!

The laguage above refers to the limited (Jyhad-backed) base set printed in 1994
and the unlimited (VTES-backed) base set printed in 1995.

Essentially this is to re-open set 1 vampires for new players, correct?

It's also to let players have the group 1 vampires in the new card
layout with Vampire backs.
