There are several cards like Bonecraft (Fleshcraft, Putrefecation)
that say "Strike : 1 damage. Put this card on that minion. Does {foo}"

While I know Combat ends means it never gets there, and I Dodge does
the same (A dodge strike deals no damage, but it protects the dodging
minion and his possessions from the effects of the opposing strike.).

The question came up regarding Skin of Rock. But could be obviously be
applied to all regular prevention.

It was claimed that as no damage was done, the card has no effect. I
argued that the card does not say "Strike : 1 damage. If this is
unprevented, etc" because isn't the use of blood to heal is
essentially the same thing.

I could see the argument if Skin of Steel, because it says Prevent ALL
damage. But even that sounds not 100% to me, because the
-strength/-stealth doesn't seem like damage as such.

Correct. Preventing only the damage only prevents the damage.

Skin of Steel prevents only the damage.
