My scenario:
take 1 pool for edge
burn eye as I don't want to pay
burn edge to get eye
do I here have to pay for the eye to keep it, or have I allready made the choice of not paying (as
the "During your untap phase, burn 1 pool or burn this equipment" uses the "during X do Y" template,
suggests that this only happens once in your untap)

The latter. (Note that this only affects storyline tournaments - the "burned" eye would normally go to someone's ash heap, where it would forget all about the foregone payment).
