Yes, they are unrelated.

Occasionally some "Yet Another Funny Message Combinations" are emitted
by Nethack. It was my fault to not having put the YAFMC identifier in
the subject, so my posting became probably a bit subtle for newbies.
Just google for the YAFMC and you'll find some quite surprisingly good
message combinations.
