I've played Nethack for years on and off and never won. Lately I've been
lurking here gathering intel to help me ascend a character. Over the last few
days, it looked like Fizz the Wizard was going to make it. Until last night..

On the 44th level, Fizz killed a cockatrice and left the corpse laying in the
hallway. Not five minutes later, he ran into a Captain carrying the corpse.
Yup, Fizz got hit by the rubber chicken. I panicked as Fizz stiffened,
forgetting the lizard corpse in his pack. As Fizz was fiddling with his Bag
of Holding to get out royal jelly, he was swallowed by a purple worm. Fizz
the Wizard became a statue in the belly of a purple worm. That should make an
interesting bones file...

And a funny message from much earlier in the same game:

"You hit the lizard. It explodes."
