Am I correct in thinking that the Lethe source code works only with the
vanilla version of Nethack?

The Lethe patch, you mean. Quite correct. Most patches assume you
have the official 3.3.1 source code.

<snip: Does Lethe work with anything other than Vanilla NetHack>

Actually, I did get Lethe to work with PatchHack a little while back.

But I couldn't get it to work as a compile-time option (because of
changes to the yacc/lex files, I believe), so it's not physically
included in PatchHack.

But could you make the source (and binaries?) available anyway? I'd
love to play Lethe with all the PatchHack goodies.

Or is the source already available?

It is now available as part of the PatchHack 5.1 beta:

http://nethack.dhs.org/patches/patch_hack/beta/

Pretty soon there will be real 5.1, I suppose.

The diff file is built relative to a clean version of the 3.3.1
source. Patch might be able to apply it to source that has had other
patches applied, although you may end up having to manually resolve
some of the conflicts. You may also be able to apply other patches
ontop of the Lethe patch (but again, your milage may vary).

The reason why I'm asking is because I was wondering if it would be possible
to get a hold of a build of Slash (Not Slash'Em) with the Lethe patch
applied. Sounds like it would take a bit of work to get it to compile
though.

Forget it. There is no version of SLASH based on 3.3.
