You can still play Umoria on the Amiga (probably the best version I've
played) thrugh WinUAE, it emulates the game (and the OS) perfectly.

I havent seen a graphical version on the pc.

(the Moria you remember)

(look familiar :) running under WinUAE 0.8.17.3 and AmigaOS3.9)

Hi Mika,

Yup, Moria is still 100% bona-fidey freeware. Buuuuut no graphics.

You might like to try Angband, similar to Moria but with more features
and supports both ASCII and graphical tiles. Even has simple sounds,
"Chop, YEEERGH!!!"

http://thangorodrim.angband.org/

Comes in Windows and DOS flavours, and you can popup multiple windows
for inventory etc. And it's all freeware :)

Personally I find playing with graphical tiles really fiddly on the
eyes. Much easier with good old ASCII <8-\

I liked CWM Moria on the Amiga best because I got to play a dwarf
Druid. It was great graphics. Someone was trying to bring CWM Moria to
the PC and has a page link on The Moria Page at
http://www.piratehaven.org/~beej/moria/ and you can still get CWM Moria
at http://www.piratehaven.org/~beej/moria/mirror/Games/Moria/ if you're
interested.
