I've hit evil Iggy with just about everything I have (34th level Druid).
The only other creatures I haven't killed are the Balrog and AMHD. How
do you kill Iggy? (Not in the FAQ). Thanks.

Treat him like the Empire Liches:
Keep your distance so that he wont steal from you (speed or
teleport/phase) and bolt him (or if you're at speed 3, hit him and back
up)
Be sure to always know where he is though if you or he teleports.
Hint: If you cant handle Iggy, its not a good idea to hang around
Balrog levels...

I've managed to kill quite a few Evil Iggys. Once you get over the
psychlogical barrier -- ie `He's a tough chap, so it's not worth trying' --
it becomes quite easy.

However, I was playing a 36th level Ranger, wearing two rings of speed and
wielding a heavily enchanted HA weapon with hit die of 4d5!!!! Also, all my
stats were at 18/100. I would just hack away and eventually wear them down.
Not very subtle, I know. If they teleported, I'd try and find them before
they restored HP. [I assume that they do restore, but I'm by no means
certain.]

All that lovely treasure that appears is a sight to behold, not to mention
the experience one gains.

Hope this helps,

Ade.

How deep do the dungeons of moria go?

Pretty damn deep. I *think* they go down 100 levels (you first start to
find the Balrog at level 50).

I've ran guys down past 300 with no end in sight. That was
after I'd played it to death for a couple years. Now I'm into
playing Angband and a little Omega.

To level 99 (4950ft), I think.

I'ts nice to have a holy avenger weapon (so you can see invisble without taking
up an equip slot for rings) and have at least one ring of speed, if not two.
The Evil Iggy moves 2 spaces faster than you, so you have to counter that. You
should also have a staff of speed. 1) use the staff of speed (so you move
faster than Iggy). 2)if you have the orb of draining priest spell, use that
until spell points are exhauseted. 3) attack and move one space until iggy
dies.

With the version I have (4.something), they are practically endless. But
if you go deeper than 2^15 feet, they overflow. Yes, I actually played
it enough for this to happen.

Evil Iggy moves only at double speed, one faster than you. With a ring
of speed and a haste self spell, you can kill him easily.

The technique in the FAQ for killing emperor liches can also be used
against Iggy; however, Iggy has more hit points and no special
vulnerability other than Orb of Draining. It's also slightly more
dangerous to use this technique against Iggy, because he can sometimes
summon undead, leaving you to deal with Iggy and an emperor lich
simultaneously.

I used to think that myself until I decided to test that theory. They
seen infinite. I had a character go down to a depth of 15050 feet
(level 301). Down there, damn near all the rooms are treasure rooms
of some sort.
