I have a DSDK specialising in maces in the midgame. This game has
thrown up intrinsic torment resistance and I just found the Sceptre of
Torment (it produces torment effects - halves the hp of everything in
sight - every few hits). The carnage is truly incredible. I just
stood arse deep in vault guards, blitzed them all down to almost dead
with the Sceptre and then cleaned the lot up with Yred's LOS drain
life. Crawl is such a sweet game sometimes.

Bloody hell. That's powerful. You'll get zotted into the abyss and
starve or something else horrible.
