Alphaman

There are other roguelikes, but they aren't finished:

Star Rogue
GearHead
DeadCold
Cyberpunk Angband
and of course my Xenocide ;)

Hehe. My turn to chime in with the old obscure ones, good luck tracking
them down :)

BOSS / BOSSC
[VMS] Doomsday 2000
Mission: Thunderbolt
Mission: Firestorm

Note that the Balrog[1] site email is updated to one that actually works
these days. And I've probably missed the newest 100 variants or so. No
guarantees of any update soon, but feel free to send info :)

The UNIX philosophy basically involves giving you enough rope to
hang yourself. And then a couple of feet more, just to be sure.

: BOSS / BOSSC

Steve Kertes was working a while back to port BOSS
over to Linux, see:
http://www.angelfire.com/games3/imoria/boss.html

[Not certain if this is what is meant by BOSSC on
Balrog - BOSS was written in PASCAL but was ported
over to C sometime after 2.0, I think?]

MacBOSS and (VMS) BOSS 2.0 can be found here:
ftp://ftp.funet.fi/pub/unix/games/moria/boss/

: [VMS] Doomsday 2000

Which became Mission: [Thunder/Fire]bolt when it
was ported over to personal computing platforms,
as noted on Balrog (URL wrap):
http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=1992Apr26.153514.39663%40kuh
ub.cc.ukans.edu&oe=UTF-8&output=gplain

: Mission: Thunderbolt

Mac version -
http://mac.the-underdogs.org/index.php?show=game&id=298

Windows version -
http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=4199

It was also available on the Casady & Greene CDROM,
Macworld Game Hall of Fame, which they no longer sell.

: Mission: Firestorm

That's what was meant, yes. And according to one of the original authors
of BOSS, their C port was never completed. As noted on Balrog in "a word
from the author".

Thanks for an informative post. *saves for later reference*

GearHead is a roguelike with customisable mechs and Alphaman is a post
apoc roguelike.
