dcss - best deity for troll monk?

My most successful character so far was a troll monk and he did very
well with Nemelex. Once those decks of summoning start rolling in at a
prodigious rate ... and particularly once you can stack decks of escape
and destruction, it works really well. He gained evocation at a great
rate of knots.
I felt that corpse sacrifice was not really a good way to go for a
troll, and it was a great way of hoovering up all that nice kit he did
not need and turning it into piety.
(ymmv of course!)

Okawaru might work out well since any armor gifts that he finds the
time to gift you will be sure to be wearable. Eventually you can end
up with some randart cloaks and caps and such (and of course some
lovely animal skins {god gift}. You might even get lucky and be
gifted a randart with +rage!
I have had fun with Nemelex but I always seem to run out of decks (but
that's probably my fault).
You can still chose Trog, too. Just don't be afraid to use piety
actions since you won't necessarily be needing his weapon gifts. Your
first flame sling is a nice gift, too (especially if it arrives in
time for swamp).
