Are there any roguelikes with combat similar to Fire Emblem or the old
Gold Box games? What I mean is, a game that is party-based and feature
action and/or movement points?

Thanks!

I think that we don't call them roguelikes...

I don't know, but following the path of tile based
Ultimas and Nahlakh, then adding random world of
a roguelike could be cool. I always liked the simple
tactical party-based combat of Ultima 3-5. Nahlakh
was probably taken too far in that, because the battles
were ridiculously long and hard.
Anyway, I think an idea of mixing these two game types
could generate a great game.

Yep. This is exactly what I had in mind. The Gold Box games (Savage
Frontier, Countdown to Doomsday, etc.) are some more good examples. I
like the type of combat found in these games (very wargame-esque!!),
coupled with the random generation.

Yep, I'm the one. :) Does your roguelike have a name/homepage? I'm
having difficulty sorting through your blog posts to find relevant
info.
