I'm doubtless inviting mockery for this, but I've gotten a new tattoo which I'm quite fond of:

One @ for each game I've made :) This is certain to be a hit conversation piece at parties, which will instantly cause people to say, "Oh, roguelikes, what are they?" and shortly after stop talking to me ;)

It looks like Run from the Shadow is listed twice. Mistake?

I like it.... though I think I would like an @ surrounded by dots and
letter monsters even more!

I would stick to just one "@" tat. I mean, almost anyone can make a
Roguelike. Not a good or great one necessarily but you could make a
whole bunch of crappy ones!

Anyway, I think a single @ gets the point across. Evenmore so if you
had like an @ and then a D with some flames coming out of it's
"mouth". That would be cool. The whole WW1/2 pilot "kill" thing is
kinda meh...in my opinion.

What would be the point of that? A tattoo should be a personal thing, not merely something that looks cool. I didn't get this tattoo just because I like roguelikes. I got it because I am proud of having made some. Sure anyone can make them, but not *anyone* does, and only I made the games I made. It's something I'm proud of, and will most likely be proud of forever. Having a mark of that on my forearm gives me the pleasure of remembering that every day. It's also a reminder of the pleasure of game-making, and an encouragement to spend more time on it.

I don't see it as a kill count, since each has its own identity and uniqueness. I know they're nothing compared to the many greater roguelikes out there, and even less to those uninterested in such games or in the perspective of the wider arts. But they matter more to me than any game or piece of art anyone else has made.

It also makes me think that I should put thought and care into the games I make, cause from now on each one is gonna hurt me :P

I really like this idea! Must go figure out my own form of painful
motivator now...

Stomping! Give up one finger joint per game.

If you make a bad game, you should have to get a badly done tattoo. ;)

Oh god! I thought he meant you screwed up your tattoo. I almost
had a sympathetic heart attack for you, because a tattoo like that
must live forever.

It's an awesome idea and it looks great! It's like your own personal badges of honor.
