Will it be counted as part of the 7DRL challenge if I start 4 days
early, on March 6th?

It will be counted as out of challenge 7DRL, provided you make it in
168 hours. Only 7DRLs that are started and finished inside the
challenge timeframe are in the challenge.

Of course. Just don't tell it to anyone. I think the best thing
about 7DRL is that it can possibly spawn a seed for a bigger
project to complete later. Pure 7DRL games are mostly
crap and not roguelikes anyway, so it's great if you can start
with an idea and then add features later to build more proper
roguelike game.

I think the too strict rules promotes this kind of behaviour. Every
year for me the challenge falls on a long weekend, (where I generally
cant code), and I always think about starting a few days earlier to
actually spend 7 days coding. I dont actually do that but I think
about it. Usually I just produce a sub-standard 4drl.

Having the challenge fall anytime within a two week period would be
great.
