Figure I'll add my hat into the ring now. I intend to make an
extremely simple game, yet it will be one that is still far more
complex feature-wise than Gruesome - hopefully I'll learn a lot from
the experience.

The game premise is simple: You are the lion Simba, son of the king
Mufasa who was murdered by your uncle Scar when you were but a cub.
You were forced into exile and have lived deep in the jungle for many
years, whilst Scar and his army of hyenas have ravaged the land of
your birth. Now come of age you can deny your destiny no longer - you
must return to your kingdom, defeat the hyenas, and face down your
uncle in single combat to reclaim the throne. Story sound
familiar...? If I have time I might throw in an ASCII intro sequence
of some of the movie scenes.

Won't actually have much time this week to work on it, but I'll give
it my best and be sure to get at least a very basic version of the
game out. For those who are interested you can follow my devblog
here:

Best of luck to everyone taking part!

Well, it's 10 minutes to my deadline and I have to hold up my hands
now - I have failed. Sorry folks, but it was a very busy week for me
and I only got about 14 hours to work on the game in total. I got as
far as an '@' wandering around randomly generated jungles (which
changed depending on progression) with various base stats implemented
and inert enemies for you to attack. No AI, and as such no real
opportunity to test out the combat system I'd invented. I'll likely
still devote a bit of time to it in future though, especially if I can
find a decent way of getting music and sounds working in Pascal...

For anyone who's curious here's the current Windows exe (bug-free) and
100% portable source:

A little screenshot of how far I got for those curious but lazy:

I have a busy week again now, but hopefully I'll have some time to
play through the many wonderful titles being released... Best of luck
to anyone in their final hours.

I thought I would check through it and see if I could come up reusable
text and other libraries in a unit...
I just started to play around with it..
