You can run for your life after hitting something.
-- using this mutation against the serpent is almost cheating; just panic hit,
wait, panic hit, wait, create walls or *destruct*, clairvoyance, panic hit,
wait, etc. until the serpent is dead. All you need is lots of restore mana
(potions or staff). This was my basic strategy and it worked wonderfully.
Klacks can also spit acid but I never used that power. I had some other
mutations but got rid of them at the chaos tower before getting the panic hit
mutation and getting resist chaos. I did not scum for mutations however.
