YAVP: Titanium Man

ADOM were getting almost too easy after about 15 normal victories, 3 ultra
endings and one restricted challenge (gray elven wizard who used only
spells to kill monsters and ended the game with all weapon skills at level
0) so I decided to try some real challenge game.
After dozens of unlucky adventurers I finally managed to finish the game
with level 1 character with no experience points.

So the result were this Titanium Man who were kind to every monster and
didn't kill anyone (but can't say same from my loyal companions).

Okay. the flg is nice and all, but can we get some more information?
How did you start the game? What companions were the most usefull, any
tough points?..

Where did you get the artifacts from? You would have gotten experience
from live saccing, did you just use corpses from your companion kills,
scum herbs?..

The second hardest part were the early game where the only companions were
greater claw bugs and my HP were so low that almost every trap could kill
me but luckily that didn't happen.
Before doing anything else in the game I wore my inherited 7LB and went
to the bug temple where I tamed some greater claw bugs to help me.

After taming the greater claw bugs I headed to the arena where I bought
some food supplies from ratling traders and went to get pick pockets
skill from Yergius.

The puppy cave weren't too hard to take down with one moderately
experienced greater claw bug but the cute dog were slightly harder to
protect than normally but still managed to get it out alive.

After making the tiny girl happy I went to the SMC and HMV but there
weren't anything special. The SMC is quite easy for level 1 PC but I had
to keep the pet near all the time because it seemed to be impossible to
tame any animals in SMC thus it was quite easy to get stuck between
monsters.

I got my first (and the only one) good herb scumming place in big room but
that wasn't any problem. When I collected herbs my pets were training
themselves and kept my surroundings clear from evil monsters.

Next interesting place were the dwarftown and the dwarven graveyard.
Thrundarr refused to give me his five quest because I weren't experienced
enough but the 'portal' quest is still available to everybody.
At the graveyard my DV were already around 80 while coward and PV weren't
bad either. Due to the herb scumming HP were also around 30-40.
About 2 minutes after entering the graveyard the RNG decided to help me a
little bit to clear the rest of the graveyard by generating a cloak of
invisibility.

I got a SoFS at graveyard and a bit later one AoLS and WoWi from 4th and
5th level of ToTHK. The wish were used for magical writing sets so I could
write some more SoFS. Reading about 8 scrolls in dwarven halls resulted 2
stone grues, 2 greater fire elementals and some greater earth elementals
which were a lot better companions than my previous greater claw bugs.

With a greater earth elemental it was quite easy to clear the darkforge
and collect the weapons (useless) and armors from the rooms there. There
were one eternium armor and one red dragon scale male which were useful in
that point since the ToEF were the next place I had to visit.

The ToEF and the ACW were the hardest part of the game. I had only about
50 HP which were too few against the ACW's bolt which killed me when
luring him off from 4th level of the tower... but luckily my precious
amulet immediately resurrected me.
The ACW were powerful enough to kill also my highly experienced greater
earth elemental and very experienced greater fire elemental.

I had found one more magical writing set from somewhere (around D:20-D:25
I think) and decided to use it for even more scrolls of familiar
summoning. One of them gave me a balor and it were my companion for the
rest of the game. After training him a little bit he were able to take
down the ACW easily and I were able to continue my quest.

The balor made the end game almost too easy. With him I could just go down
and let him to kill every encountered monster.
Surprisingly I weren't killed any cats and the cat lord gave me the
RoTMC... even I ate one cat corpse in front of him. :)

The balor were already extremely experienced when I were at the entrance
of the blue dragon caves and he was powerful enough to knock down the
Srraxxarrakex in a single turn. Also Nuurag-Vaarn were killed by him in
only one turn.

Next slightly harder (and corrupting) part come when I had to clear D:48
from weak monsters that could die by the fire damage caused by the orb of
fire. It took quite a plenty of time and gave me ~2 corruptions but
finally me and my 3 companions were able to kill almost everybody in that
level and all remaining monsters survived from the heat.

In D:50 I used 6 SoFS to summon 3 writhing masses of primal chaos and
3 greater earth elementals to help me in the final challenge. The greater
earth elementals were tough enough to take down all rooms except the
biggest room around the chaos gate. First 2 balors initially standing
on the gate levers were killed by my companions and I was able to pull
both levers.

Soon after pulling the levers about 4 balors came in the room where I was
with my elemental pets, summoned the room full of random monsters and
killed all my elementals. I teleported to the other room and summoned some
monsters on the lever to keep the balors off from it and quickly
teleported back to the stairway. The monsters were able to keep the levers
closed and let me to flee the level and finish my quest.

I got only 3 randomly generated artifacts in this game. First were the
protector which I got from casino shop, the second were the scorched spear
from Sharad-Waador and the last one were the crown of leadership which was
the uselessness gift in D:49.

I sacrificed mostly gold to my god but also some other items were used.
Living sacrifices weren't used at all.

Scumming herbs (and some sickness) were quite important to get my really
low HP up at least a little bit. Also every potion of extra healing and
ultra healing were blessed and drank to get some more HP.
