Eep! It holds a fatal crash bug related to the monster inventories!

Definitely yes.
Grab that dagger that Sharad-Waador gave you. It's vital for the next
part.
Now, go back to the surface and to that dusty dungeon at the other end of
the Pyramid road. Descend to the level where you're surrounded by teleport
traps. Read a blessed scroll of magic mapping and go to the down
staircase. You need to become "specially attuned" to the level before you
can descend, and this requires a lot of tries. Equal to the number of
traps on the level, I think.
You'll find a level filled with assassins. Go find the assassin prince
(another SoMM will be nice) and chat with him. I don't know if you have
to wield that artifact dagger while doing this. He'll give you the quest
to kill Filk the quickling bard, who will be hiding in the infinite
dungeon on level n=number_of_first_kills_slain, so if you killed a gremlin
first and have killed 642 gremlins, Filk will be on I:642. Oh, and by the
way, the Assassin prince will have the other one of the twin daggers. Kill
him if you feel like it.
When you've got Filk dead, go say hi to the Mad Minstrel, who will guide
you to the Scintillating cave that holds the Emperor Moloch. Kill the
bastard and grab the crumpled scroll plus a niiice armor. Go to Terinyo
and give the scroll to Khelavaster, who will create the Trident of the Red
Rooster. Wield it and go through the Chaos Gate. (by the way, since this
is G15, Khel just *might* pick up the Trident himself)
You'll find Andor Drakon, the eLdEr ChAoS gOd. Kill him with the Trident.
... by the way ... Is this enough for becoming an Avatar of Order?
Anyway, because we're talking G15, i'd recommend that you start using
backups - I lost my will to play G15 during my Xmas holiday when my Troll
Elementalist got screwed just below the Air temple.

Probably. I've never got that far, but if it's anything like Yggaz and
the potions, it's practically a certainty.

I think you need the Crown and the Medal, but not the Sceptre. AFAIK you
also have to be a Champion of Law, not be doomed (except from the
dooming from the components of the Trinity) and be 95% corrupted (or is
that just for UCG?).

You can. See below.

Hmmm... Did you to the quest given by the Assassin Prince? Also, did
you slay the Emperor Moloch? If so, you should know that you can give
the crumpled scroll to Khelavaster.
Once you given the stuff, you will need two more items: The crown of
chaos, and the medal of chaos. You can only get them if you are
chaotic, and it is too late to change.
(There should be a way to nail him without the chaos items.)

You should upgrade to prerelease g16-2. Although it's only a
prerelease, it's very stable and well playable.

If you have already been crowned in that game, it is impossible.
>What do I need to do?
This question is asked relatively often. I will copy&paste a very
detailed answer I gave on it previously:
Someone should write a detailed guide on a website. Too bad I have
none.
<following sections are: >
Requirements
Strategies
How to get the various artifacts you need.
<even more spoiler space>
OK.
For the ultra lawful ending (ULE):
Enter the gate on D50 being lawful while wielding the Trident of the
Red Rooster(refered as "Trident" here and generally known as TotRR)
and wearing the Crown and the Medal of Chaos.
Kill Andor Drakon while wielding the Trident.
For the ultra neutral ending(UNE):
The requirements are the same as for the ultra lawful ending ,except
that you have to be neutral and you have to be extremly corrupted
(95%)! when entering the gate.
You will become an Avatar of Order / Balance this way.
It is not yet known whether you have to be crowned / of extreme
alignment for these endings ,but better be safe than sorry. If you do
not wield the Trident when the game ends ,you will complete another
ending ,which has ,to my knowledge ,not yet been done legitimately.
For the ultimate chaos god ending (UCG) (some call this ultra chaotic
ending ,but calling it so usually creates a lot of confusion):
Enter the gate as a champion of chaos while wearing the Crown and the
Medal of Chaos ,being extremly corrupted, and wielding either the
Sceptre of Chaos (only option in gamma 12) or the Trident of the Red
Rooster. Then kill Andor Drakon with the Trident of the Red Rooster.
For the chaos god ending (CG) :
The requirements are the same as for the UCG ,except that you don't
wield the Trident of the Red Rooster.
This is ,to my knowledge, the only special ending for which you don't
need the Trident of the Red Rooster.
It is a VERY wise idea not be doomed or cursed aside from wearing the
Chaos Artifacts when you enter the gate.
I do not know whether you have to be crowned for the ULE / UNE, but
Khelavaster won't summon the Trident for fallen champions.
Strategies:
If you are heading for an UCG do the quests for the Trident first
(must be at least N- for getting the Trident) without being crowned.
Then become C- (very easy) and become crowned chaotic.
Get the Medal and the Crown of Chaos.
For the ULE ,stay lawful as long as possible to avoid corruption, and
as soon as you have all requirements (6 spare artifacts (This means
you should try to get as many artifacts as possible in the early game)
,a giant boar skull , a potion of cure corruption , a scroll of danger
and a wand of monster creation ) ,become chaotic , get the Medal of
Chaos and learn how to obtain the Crown of Choas. Your level should be
as low as possible now to make reaching L+ again easier. By saccing
small amounts of gold at an altar (take preparation against diving
wrath!!!) you can change alignment to LN. Get crowned lawful as soon
as possible and go the way to the Trident of the Red Rooster. Take
care not to carry the Chaos Artifacts around if you don't need to. It
will corrupt you unnecessarily.
If you are already at character level 50 ,regardless whether you
already have the Trident of the Red Rooster, reaching L+ is VERY hard.
In that case you might consider going for the UNE instead.
For the UNE ,I would suggest you use the same strategy ,because it
allows you to be crowned as early as possible. You can ,however
assemble the requirements in any order ,changing alignment often , and
change alignment to N= in the end using an neutral altar. Saccing
50,000 gp on a neutral altar while being neutral moves ,according to
my experience, your alignment to N= instantly.
Being probably the only one who has all these three endings ,I dare to
say that the ULE is the easiest ,but requires the most planning. The
UCG is the hardest because of corruption.
How to get the various artifacts:
The Sceptre of Chaos:
Get it in the infinite dungeon on around I68. You will know when you
are there. Getting the sceptre out of the infinite dungeon is a real
pain because the Sceptre corrupts you by merely carrying it. If you
are a powerful spellcaster, use magic mapping + controlled
teleportation as much as possible! Otherwise do this trip as soon as
possible , preferably before day 90! I have managed to collect
somewhat like ~70% corruption on this trip only.
The Crown of Chaos:
The demented ratling in dwarftown ask you for 6 artifacts if you are
chaotic. Give him any 6 artifact except the Si while being chaotic.
Giving him an artifact required for your ending is plain stupid. Talk
to him after you have done what he had asked you for. You will learn
how to obtain the crown of chaos. Enter the stone circle after 11pm on
darknight and kill Keriax ,the multi-headed chaos dragon. You do not
have to be chaotic for entering the stone circle, so you can do this
last part very late!
The Medal of Chaos:
The old crone in the high montain village behind a secret wall will
give you some quests. You have to be chaotic for all of the them.
First complete the demented ratling's quest. Then bring her the skull
of a giant boar. Giant boars are found in wilderness encounters. Then
she ask for a potion of cure corruption, next is the corpse of a
farmer.Keep in mind that farmers will only leave corpses if you have
that quest!! To kill a farmer ,either kill one in the HMV ,if there is
one or lure one out of Terinyo. Farmers will never step on a grid
,which allows luring them out of Terinyo ,on their own ,but you can :s
them ,especially if you have a high speed. After that ,procure a
scroll of danger and finally a wand of monster creating with at least
one charge. She will summon the Medal of Chaos after this .This
summoning is a chaotic act ,by the way, so for achieving an ULE ,one
has to commit at least one chaotic act!
The Trident of the Red Rooster.
First of all ,save Khelavaster ,the dying sage , by giving him an
amulet of life saving.
Deep in the Caverns of Chaos ,in the side branch to the mana temple ,a
named ancient karmic wyrm will assign you to a quest. Complete this
quest and take the first of the twin daggers "Needle" & "Sting" with
you.It looks like a plain dagger (10s) unidentified.
If you have this Artifact in your possession and are at least at
character level 45 ,the assassin prince will give you another quest.
Sometimes the assassin prince is hostile ,but that does not really
matter ,since he gives you the quest nonetheless. Killing him is
rewarded by the second twin dagger. Now remeber how many monsters of
that type ,which was your first kill ,you have killed so far. Check by
the :k command. Go in the infinite dungeon to the corresponding level.
There is no special message ,so you don't know when you are there.
Kill "Filk" ,the quickling bard on that level. After this ,the Mad
Minstrel reveals the location of a cave ,where you will find the
emperor moloch. Killing him yields a suit of moloch armor and a
crumpled scroll. Give this scroll to Khelavaster ,who should be in
Terinyo by now. He can make himself invisible ,so you better can see
invisible. You must not be a fallen champion, and your
alignment must be at least N-. That's it.
Now to you, Tapio.
The ultra lawful ending is probably closed for you, as changing
alignment towards lawful is severely hindered by your high level.
If you do not know what your first kill was, you have a problem. Even
worse, if your first kill was something very common like a rat or a
jackal, you might have to dive far too deep into the ID and die of
corruption. For this reason, it is a general strategy to make the
first kill in Lawenilotehl.
To accomplish an UCG, get the Trident first, then the other artifacts.
For an UNE, you can freele choose any order, but I would become
chaotic now and do everything which requires a chaotic alignment, then
be crowned neutral and get the Trident.
If you have not yet done the unicorns' quest, you might consider
killing the greater white unicorn, as you need 95% corruption anyway.
Just take care, because there are some events which will give you a
lot of corruption instantly (such as crowning as a chaotic) and you
might die unexpectedly.
While you are carrying chaos artifacts, use teleportation as often as
possible to avoid corruption!
I hope you are still able to accomplish an ultra-ending.
Good luck!
(you'll need it ;) )

Agreed. An AoO should be able to avoid chaotic acts, and still whip andy babies
ass.
Perhaps there could be an amulet of false alignment - it would allow you to pick
an alignment, and other char's would think it was your true alignment.
'screech eyes you suspiciously. Then he blinks.
"Oh. You ARE da one - I was confused for a second there."'
It's always puzzled me how the most stable release for ages takes pains
to tell you that's suitable for crash-prone alpha-testing only.

I have a website, but it's not at all ADOM-related, so it might look out

If you have the Trident (and are wielding it when you enter the gate)

otherwise you fail the final test and are ripped to shreds.

Yes, thats for the UCG. I dont think you need to be extremely corrupted

I was wondering if a lawful person could not use the platinum girdle to do
that. I'm not sure what it does exactly except you can't really wear it if
you have commited a single chaotic act in the game. It'd make sense it would
allow you to enter the place of chaos unharmed. Does anyone know how to get
it and what to do with it ?
> > --

Moah, full time turnip.
There would seem to be a case that the alignment displayed on the screen
is, in fact, your perceived alignment - your reputation, as it were.
After all, if a chaotic character needed an item only obtainable by
lawfuls, he wouldn't suddenly become nice...he'd just pretend to, even
to the point of worshipping a different god for a while. Of course, this
means we have to assume that the gods aren't omniscient, but I think
other events have already proven that. Of course, a lawful character
shouldn't pretend to be chaotic...unless it serves the greater good.
One problem with this theory is the amulets of alignment. Still, wearing
an amulet of a particular alignment serves to notify people that you are
of that alignment, so it should affect your reputation. Another problem
is that there's a spell called Know Alignment. But to that, I say
"Piffle".

I believe you get given it on CoC 50 if you've never done anything chaotic,
and are L+. AFAIK it's never been acquired legitimately, and I'm not sure if
anyone tried going through the gate with it.

A tart temper never mellows with age, and a sharp tongue is the only edged

I think the reason it's so hard to become lawful is that it's your true
alignment. So, while you initially planned to pretend, in order for the
pretence to be adequate it must cease to be a pretence and be genuine. This
would obviously be difficult for a hard-core ChAoS wOrShIpPeR. OTOH,
becoming truly chaotic is so easy because simply wanting to become chaotic
is chaotic.

Amulets of alignment beseech the aid of the appropriate god in converting to
their cause, so wearing them is in itself an act of that alignment. That
could be why it's uncomfortable, or outright painful, to wear non-aligned
amulets, as your current god is trying to dissuade you from this path.
