This is a publicity opportunity only. You can work your name into the
screensaver graphics under 'credits' and have it seen by a lot of
people using Dell PC's. It'll be configured as the default screensaver
leaving the factory.
We're looking for cool, creative stuff that has our name and website
address in it.
Interested parties can contact me at spri...@eden.com

Keep this out of rec.games.programmer; it has nothing to do with games.
Try comp.graphics, or comp.os.windows.programmer or whatever.

I made one in OpenGL, where do I send it to?
CJD
Speak for youself. A lot of freelances and beginners would love an
opportunity like this, and r.g.p is the best place to find such
people.

Wouldn't that chug a bit, or are you expecting Dell to ship Beta/Quake GL
drivers on their machines?

Well, actually, I would have put it in the "A Really Great, Truely Worth
Opportunity" column. That sort of exposure and expereince is exactly what can
help you get a foot in the door at a job interview. I do it if I wasn't so damn
busy...
Michael K
Actually, I'm expecting Dell to stop spamming on this newsgroup.
Other than that, Windows 95 is about as beta as you can get. With that
attitude, we might as well still be using DOS, right?
CJD
Yeah. It's not half as bad as those messages "Hey, I have a guaranteed
million dollar game idea, and you can program it for me! I promise no money,
but you'll get a percentage once we sell enough copies!"

Uh, it's a job opportunity (not one paying money, but the
fame would be sufficient for many).
It was posted *once*.
It's semi-relevant.
I'm not thinking spam...

In what way? Maybe if you're using the beta version, it's a
beta, but the full version is (strangely enough) a release
version. If you're equating 'beta' and 'buggy', then there is
no such thing as release versions of software. Every
non-trivial piece of software has bugs. In most cases,
they're completely irrelevant.
>With that attitude, we might as well still be using DOS,

Have you had a look at Ralf Brown's interrupt list?
Do you seriously consider that bloated, redundant,
overloaded mess to be a coherent OS?

Russ
I would never consider doing such a product for free. No wonder Dell
are making money...

It's not free. It's swapping programming skills with marekting
exposure. If you don't need to market yourself because you're already
established it's not worth it. Otherwise it is.
