I have been looking for the rules for 'playing' Solitaire (a.k.a
Réussite or Patience) with a tarot deck (full 78 cards). Do these exist?
Online? In a book?
Thanks a lot :)

I have seen a book that described solitaire games one could play with a
Tarot deck, but it doesn't have what you're looking for. Your question
("THE rules" for Tarot Solitaire) assumes that there is a standard way to
use the Tarot cards to play Klondike/Patience/etc. That's an erroneous
assumption. You can just make up your own rules, or you can do what I do...
call the major arcana a special suit, create a 5th foundation, and make up
your own rules about the use of major arcana, on both the foundation and the
tableaux.
Under normal Klondike rules, when building sequences in the tableaux, one
must alternate the cards red/black/red, etc. Red equates to cups and
pentacles. Black equates to swords and wands. You can try different rules
for the use of major arcana in the tableaux, but you'll probably find that
it's best to permit the lower major arcana on any other one-higher card of
any suit. The higher major arcana (above XIV, the value of the Kings) can
of course only be tableau'd upon other major arcana.
Under normal Klondike rules, when building suits on the foundations, one
must begin with the lowest card - Ace. For the major arcana foundation, you
can try various rules, but I've found that it's okay if I permit this
foundation to start with any card - then when I hit XXII the next card is 0,
then I, and so on.
The goal is to find rules that are fun to play yet not too easy. If you win
it a lot, your rules are too loose.
Have fun! - Tom

I had also added a 'rule' that results in a reading of the "blocking" cards
when the trial is not a success, 6 cards or less to make up a minimal celtic
cross...
Here are some points I am still trying to include in:
- Playing more on the upright/reversed cards while attempting the success
- or picking a few cards in a well decided manner to make up a small stack
to be read afterwards if the trial is a success.
Cheers :) -Joe
