Some years ago, during a bridge week, I learned a card game presumedly
hailing from Norway, as it was called "Sprojt" or "Spröjt" or something.

If I recall the rules correctly the deuces were taken out of the deck, and
placed in a special order, marking what suit were trumps at the current
deal.
4 players, each got 12 cards.
You were forced to follow suit, and cover. And if you could not follow suit,
I assume you were forced to ruff.

Could anyone help me with the rules?

It's an Icelandic three-player Whist variant also known as Manni - see

Thanks. I vividly remember, though, that if anyone lead a trump you were
forced to cover. Perhaps it was just trumps where you were forced to cover.
And perhaps it was a variation of the game.
