My name is Babak and I'm writing from Iran. Here in Iran, we have
three different card games that are played by four players, standing
as two teams. I believe they're said to be derived from the game of
whist. The most common one is called "Hokm" meaning (Rule) in playing
Persian and meaning (Trump Suite) in cards. The other is called "Rok",
to tell you the truth, I don't know where the name comes from! The
third one is actually French and is called "Blot".
I am very interested in learning the game of Bridge, but there
isn't any info available on it in Iran. I was wondering if anyone had
a set of rules for the game typed out, I would appreciate it if s/he
would send it to me by Email. If not, I'd be very thankfull if someone
could write the basic rules to me, just enough for us to start playing
the game.
Please write to me by Email at: Teh...@www.dci.co.ir since I don't
have access to Usenet and I can't follow this NG. I am writing this
letter using Email to Usenet services.
With many thanks in advance,
Sincerely, Babak.

Yikes! Things must have loosened up a lot. Wasn't it not so long ago
that it was illegal in Iran to play cards?
Even chess!? A sad irony, considering that most western chess terms
are Iranian in origin.
Is it OK to play cards now...?

Each game is unique and this one is no different to any other.
