Money Back Warranty!
Maybe because he couldn't get the 3rd party license so he has to get
your original back to avoid licensing fees?

Either that or so he can sell the old one to make an extra buck off of
a sucker.
Not sure what a next gen. translite is. And why would I want a
trademark for some odd stuff on a reproduction?
Andrew
Or you can just buy one from Gene Cunnigham. He had them at Pinfest.
Next up is "Next Generation Technology" MM restorations. Just ship him
your MM and a deposit of $5000 and you will receive a newly restored
game with the special trademark scrawled in crayon across the
translite.
No way Scott; this guy is a real stickler on lic. fees and would never
do something to avoid them, after all he has a rep to protect.
;)
Eric
technology aside. He probably doesn't have a license to reproduce
translites so taking your old one that you own and replacing it wouldn't
require a license.

I think he is talking about his new inkjet printer that does color,
white, & clear coat. Some people think its a Roland printer. Wayne is
going to use it to make a variety of pinball products.
Doesn't this open himself up to everybody reproing whatever they want
without a license as long as they accept and destroy the original part
that is being replaced?
I would guess YES, it would open up that particular floodgate. But I
would also bet that he is not destroying the old translite either.
Brian
So is it a repro or is it a restoration? Saying "restoration" implies
that the old translite is somehow wiped clean and re-used.
What makes it so special?
Is it better than NOS? Why?
What if someone has a TAF with no translite?
What happens to the translites that get sent back to you?
What are the conditions of the money back warranty?
Something more than "varies" would be nice for the shipping cost.
Especially since the item is coming from Australia!
Even if I wasn't familiar with this seller, I'd have to pass on this
auction with a laugh and a head shake.

Actually it would have Williams spelled with 3 L's :)
So legally, would he have any requirements as per the old translite,
as in he can't resell it, or he must dispose of or destroy it? Guess
he could agree to sell it back to the purchaser for nothing?
Wish I had a nickel for every time I heard that. : )
Well I guess legally anybody can do this. He shouldn't do it because
then other people might also? Guess I don't understand the question
(?)
He needs a core to rebuild/restore the next one with.
What if you have one that is compltely faded white [hint, hit]?
Time for a new keyboard!
Post should read: What if you have one that is completely faded white
[hint, hint]?
Then I guess he breaks out the printer. Who knows :)
I emailed them from eBay. I told them I would buy a translite from
them straight out but failed to see why I needed to send my old one in
and still pay a new price for his. Especially seeing mine is in good
cond. He said he could not sell me one outright and if mine was in
good shape to just live with it.
Thats the strangest eBay ad I have seen to be sure. He wants my very
nice Addams translite, and for me to pay a new price for his. So he
in return can sell mine for even more profit. Go figure that one. I
will say this though. I did buy a new translite, bi plane, plastic
set, for my IJ restoration and they all were very nice products. I
would definately buy a new Addams translite, but not on a trade in
basis. Thats a sham for sure.
To answer your Question Raul Julia Died and his estate does not want
anything to do with licensing his image etc
Regardless of any other 3rd party that appears on the translite, If 1
does not give permission then the product does not get made.
If IPB are selling them then take that up with them.
The estate is happy for us to offer a changeover but not make a run of
new translites to offer for outright sale.
each translite we receive is stored and if at anytime required can be
produced to the Estate Trustees.
So you have an option keep your worn faded damaged scratched original
or replace it with a product that looks better than the original.
Nobody has been able to remake a translite as good or better than
original since the originals were made.
We hope to have all our Translites swapped over to this next
Generation Technology over the next few months.
PS there is no added Hologram or labels that are fitted that cannot be
peeled off when received.
Am I hallucinating? Whether it's all true or not, that has to rank as the ONLY
apparently factual and informational statement I've EVER seen from WAYNO.
Even the part about "nobody has been able to..." could be taken as truthful,
since I don't see any mention of "nobody ELSE"... just "nobody" ! : )
