tilting upper playfield like a combo between the corvette LT1 ramp and
IJ's path of adventure will be behind the right ramp. Ironhide will be
in front and will look like he's shaking it. starscream will be in the
back left with some additional rules yet to be revealed.

I like the pro. Can't wait to get the LE.

Sounds promising! Any talks of what the spinning transformer is? A
moving target or just an added spinner?

Here is the only part I seen from the TF LE when I was on the tour

I believe just a spinner on the left orbit. supposedly there's some
additional secret to it.

The upper playfield movement sounds really cool. I can't wait to see
some pictures and more info on the LE. I also hope these game gets
some better skill shots the single pro skill shot is boring : (

Any other info released from expo?

Talked to Borg for a bit and i'm excited about his game. I might have to

not much from JJP and JP besides that they have good people and are

Played TF at Expo and really enjoyed it. Like most Stern bash toys,
though,, Optimus Prime was REALLY unreliable on every one of the TFs I
played. Some solid hits register, others don't. And invariably when
they don't, they cost you the match.....

I wonder if any of the games there had coil pulse set to
"HARD" ....that seems to help pretty much every Stern game play
better. Dunno why it's not the default.

Tilting upper playfield?? Wasn't it originally promised to be a
transforming playfield? So even the LE edition of Transformers won't
have any actual transforming elements? Even happier to have decided
not to order transformers. I'll wait for another hit from Borg he's on

We played TF quite a bit and enjoyed it.

We have an Autobot's Edition on order, but if the LE doesnt offer much
over the Pro game play wise, we will be trading it out for the Pro.

We have the same feeling with the Tron LE, just traded ours out but
wouldnt mind picking up the Pro, but the LE wasnt worth the extra $2k...

You're right that the Tron LE gameplay is pretty much the same as the
Pro - but, money aside, I'd only want to own the LE just because the
color changing ramps are just so F-ing cool.

Transformers LE will have legitimately different gameplay due to the
upper playfield, Starscream toy, and extra controlled gate. Whether
that's better or not is up to the individual player at the end of the
day!

I think the extra gate will be awesome. That will allow for full orbits
from both sides and more combos. As it is in pro, only the left orbit
returns to the right side. Right orbits drop into the pops.

Kinda related: Are the new Sterns still shipping with those yellow
"Tournament" toppers?

I was told a projected shipping date of Nov 11 starting.

Moving upper right field with opto sensors to complete for that mode,
similar design to Corvette by shaking it the ball will go up since the
rubber configuration is shaped like a V. Ironhide looks like he's
shaking it.

Drop target in front of multiball scoop.
Megaton in robot form with ball shooting cannon.

Starscream in back left on a motorized plate that will interact
somehow with the upper left area ramp.

There are also 2 unused TF inserts that are not illuminated in the Pro.

Wondering if raising the gate would be a combo function.

Well, first off - I don't know anyone who bought a Tron LE that was
$2000 more than the Pro....but in any case...if I already had the game
- it would be too cool for me to trade down. I'd ignore the money

My dealer told me they're 2 weeks behind and probably won't ship until
December. This is for the DLE. Id suspect they'd ship all LEs around

Heck yea. Decided to pull the trigger, got my deposit in on a DLE.
Wife and I both agreed that a Decepticons version is the only way to
go for personalities. This is my 5th NIB and might be my last for a
few years; so we wanted to make it special and get the DLE. I haven't
been this excited for an NIB purchase since my first, LoTR.
Ironically, both Gomez designed games...and all this time I thought
lawlor was my favorite. Lawl!

Greg if you get your LE first my wife and I better get an invite =p

Correction, must be an early translite since the Decepticon side is red
and the autobot side is blue. Still cool.

I think the "transforming" occurs when you select a side. The game
"transforms" (via software) to your choice.

When I asked Gomez about the upper playfield, he wouldn't drop any
other info other than "it transforms" ...so, that has nothing to do
with sides....plus, the upper playfield is on the Autobot side of the
playfield -so, it's always gonna be an Autobot "toy". I was kinda
hoping it would flip over to reveal another playfield, like BOP...but
I don't think that's gonna happen....maybe it has some moving parts
that shift and change the layout? Ambitious dreaming? :)

So can someone tell me if that plastic thing Gomez is playing with in
the first teaser video awhile back is going to be a transforming toy on
the playfield? For some reason I always thought that was meant for
transforming Megatron from sitting position to standing postion? Now
I'm not so sure.

Now that I look at that toy again, it looks like the ball locks in
ironhides cannon. So if we let my imagination run wild for a bit, I'd
guess ironhide sits on a player controlled disk or sphere and then you
launch the ball out of his cannon towards a target or targets. Maybe?

socal_steve

That looks more like an ironhide figure and the way he's using it
looks like he's lifting his arms up and down as if he's moving the
play field. My guess is you control ironhide with the flipper buttons.
The LE teaser info suggested it was a spherical mini play field that
was user controlled. Use your imagination from there...?

there are more longer shots than tron. the LE should help with ball flow
since the right orbit wont be stopped by the gate. It seems to have a
lot more flow than tron but is more legitimately punishing. There is no
magnet to throw the ball down the outlane....just the result of bad
shooting. The ramps are supposedly changing for the LE, i hope they're
just as fun to hit. I'm liking the long right ramp.

I just think it's plain stupid to make a transformers pin that doesn't
actually have any transforming elements in it.

All this talk about it transforms when you choose your side is as big

some people getting there panties in a twist, btw that's not aimed at

I doubt it would take a rocket scientist to make a plastic toy stand up
in 3 small movements during multiball, and then collapse back down
again.

Afterall, they made an entire Pirate ship shake, rock, sink and
practically disappear into the playfield infront of your very eyes! And
that wasn't even meant to be a transformer toy.

Agreed, but I don't think that would meet the high "transforming"
standards people seem to have. There's something very similar to what
you describe in that first TF promo video Stern released. Which I assume
we'll see in the LE.

There is a lot of information given in that Talk. Hints at the LE,

The one thing i'm not a fan of is the changing of the right ramp. i
really like the iron hide ramp in the Pro and I hope the shot is still
the same but there's an up/down ramp going to the upper playfield.
smashing into that gate every time will not be as satisfying.

I have to admit I am impressed by the shots of the starscream and iron

gameplay changes for the LE! not just some lights and a single

So when do we get some real info and images of the LE in action??? I

Color me impressed too. Also would like to see where they put that drop
target. George showed the audience, but no pic of it. Also, a little
concerned about the flow of the right ramp as mentioned before. I'm
sure George thought of everything for us. It's amazing he designed and
built these in just 3.5 months.

You're a pretty negative person if you don't see that this game is
pretty original. Is there another game with two sets of rules? Two
sets of callouts? Is there another game with a fucking robot that
shakes the playfield? LOL I mean what are you expecting? Did you want
the machine to turn into a car or something and drive your negative ass
to the premier of the next Transformers movie?

I think he did a fantastic job all things considered. Really creative
stuff and took a different approach, to this machine, than anybody's
ever taken to any other machine.

I'm pretty impressed with the LE features shown at the Expo. REALLY
looking forward to some pictures of the actual machine and production
features.

I will express my concern for the right ramp too. Seems if the upper
playfield is always in play, it may affect flow of the game. But, it's
only one picture. Still to early to really tell...

Im pretty positive every shot won't be to the mini playfields. As long
as this quote is true, "Access to the mini-playfield is controlled by
a gate at the entrance which can open to allow the ball the enter, or
stay closed to send the ball back down the right exit ramp."
Other than that there's only one more thing to say; boner boner boner!

The drop target is going in front of the megatron ball lock

Is the megatron toy on-top of the scoop also animating still? I
remember that from the LE list.

Man looking at these images and all the things in the LE version
really has me excited for this game. I was under the impression that
the starscream shot was just going to be a stand up target and a toy.
I was very happy to see that it rotates and has some cool
functionality. Iron hide 2nd playfield also looks super fun! I can't
wait to play it and see it in all it's glory!

As I understand it (somebody tell me if I'm wrong) on the Pro, Megatron
is a vehicle, and sits above the scoop. On the LE, Megatron is a robot,
stands on the scoop, and somehow shoots the balls out himself. I.E. the
balls come out of Megatron's cannon.

I don't think the balls come out of the cannon...I think the cannon is
just on a coil and rapid fire "animates" as the balls shoot out of the
scoop.
