So far the last 2 pairs of playfields have sailed through finish
DuPont, with no problems (disasters). This is a major step forward on
the process which saw many new restored playfields get wrecked at the
last step the first 2 years. Yes its been over 2 years getting this
system close to 100%.

Playfields are being done in pairs & I might soon see groups of 4-6 go
for finish clear coat at a time. Please keep in mind my time
constraints, & that of my printer doing 1 playfield at a time. So all
playfields are getting ready to go through the process, & be finished
Spring/Summer 2010. 5 Sorcerer's & 5 Space Shuttle's are next, along
with 2 Star Gazer's. Eight Ball Deluxe, & High Speed should be the
last ones in the Summer.

I tried to have a Space Shuttle ready quickly for Texas Pinball
Festival from Craig Hassle. It didn't happen due to time constraints.
It is getting ready for ink early May, & should prove that it can be
done in 30-90 days. That's the realistic goal to restore playfields if
the art is available. Sam's Sorcerer is going for ink the same time.
Korn's replacement playfield arrived & will get done late Spring.

So everything is positive this year to finish all the playfields here
with my printers assistant doing the work for ink, myself for the bulk
of the work, & body shop owner doing finish DuPont. No playfields are
being accepted until the backlog is done. Edward's & another guys
Space Shuttle should arrive the end of this week or the following
week. My printer goes on vacation this week, that's why the next 2 get
inked early May, & I go to Allentown for 5 days vacation.

looks good!

how did/do you print on top of the inserts?, if you do!

since you can't print white, do you put letters on top of the inserts,
then level it with clearcoat? (that's what i did white a overlay from
edward, it's better then a vinyl on top of the inserts, so air won't get
trapped).

With the Space Shuttle's starting with Craig Hassle. I now do white
masking for USA & Space Shuttle at the same time I mask off the light
lenses & wood area's.

Here is the new process for me using HVLP for varethane. Sanded
playfield gets 2 coats varethane, mask & spray white auto acrylic
white high gloss (rattle can Sherwin Williams), 2 coats varethane,
printer inks with color span 9840uv printer, 3 coats varethane, & 2
coats of finish DuPont!

How much does it cost to do a playfield and are you currently taking
orders?
