What classic machines have you found over the years to be the lowest
maintenance? Which ones seem to hardly ever go down, or if they do,
are easy to bring back up?

Stern's Monopoly has done well. Oh, wait, WMS/Bally...

Fish Tales
Hurricane (not counting backbox motor/tranny)
Flintstones
Getaway

Generally, games without subways and feature motors (I know FT and H have
motors) tend to outlast those that do, in my experience.

I don't think you name 10 DMD pins _without_ finding a problem child....:)

My most reliable game has been Cftbl.

Every one I've got requires occasional tweaks to keep it playing 100%.
Mainly switches getting tired/bent and not registering.
As for operation. When I seperated some of them onto circuits (only 2 DMD's
per cicuit and 3 pins max per circuit) they have been real reliable and
eliminated any reset action. Can have all my games playing at once this way.
Need a couple more hands, though.

Creech is solid. Of course, you can't repair a faded hologram. The right
upkicker will eventually pop it's top, requiring repair. The kiss lane gate
will probably eventually break as well. Both are easy, cheap fixes. No
trough optos!

The ones with not too many moving parts, no extra boards for coils,
flashers, motors etc, not many optos in the games. So, in your "category"
T2, Fish Tales, CFTBL, The Getaway will do quite nicely, provided they were
shopped and checked thoroughly before they got to you. Certain amount of
maintenance and smaller problems is inevitable on any machine.

Which Williams games are low maintenance? Robotron 2084. Maybe
Bubbles. Seriously, though, you used "low maintenance" and "pinball"
in the same sentence.

My HSII plays best when played often.

When it sits for extended periods the timing seems to lag and causes
problems.

I think the diverter tends to get a bit sluggish.

When played frequently, it plays great.

Cftbl never hiccups.

Of course now that I have torn it apart completely, it will probably never
work right.

None, really, but I'd have to say TAF is the winner
for "hardly ever go down".

They're still out there making good money.
