Lately the knocker on my Taxi fires whan i power up the game. The
game appears to play fine. I tried to figure out why, but was unable
to find any information.

Any ideas?

thanks, JT

I think this is a common thing with System 11s. My Whirlwind does it
too and I've seen a few other System 11s do it as well.

If it knocks repeatedly it is telling you there is a problem somewhere.

If it knocks and locks the driver is shorted on.

It might be the switch error notification. You can turn this off in the
adjustments. I think it's supposed to knock 2 or 3 times indicating a
bad switch. A single knock is just a screwy system 11 issue. My Dr Dude
does this once in a while but not all the time. It seems to only happen
when powered off for long periods of time.

I had this on a BK2K, which is a Sys11B. It wasa fault in the GI
circuit where the header and pins were burning up. I think the
increased resistance caused it to do a single knock each time it was
switched on. Ther were no sitch errors that I could find. Fixed the
GI interconnect problem (replaced pins and connector) and it stopped
knocking.

Cheers
