Maximizing score in RFM Attack Mars mod

I've been on a tear trying to get higher and higher scores on RFM. I'm
at 1.1B but sometimes when a game seems killer the score isn't all
that impressive. I haven't exactly figured out how to maximize the
Attack Mars score and the rulesheet and pinball2000.de page don't say
a whole lot about it. Sometimes I beat the giant brain quickly and
only get 225M points, other times it takes forever and I get 400M+
points and I'm not exactly sure why.

Thanks, that gives me something to try. Hit more ramps and loops in
giant brain mode to keep it going as long as possible. Because of the
point count-down I was thinking it was advantageous to kill the giant
brain as fast as possible, but my attack mars scores were declining so
that clearly isn't the right strategy.

During Attack Mars EVERY SHOT is worth points. Therefore, you
actually want to keep each mode running for as long as you can.
Completing either of the side 3-banks of alien targets will add a
ball, AND give you a timed ball saver. So, while you have ball save,
hit ramps and loops like crazy. Once ball save is gone for each
portion, start making the shots to get to the next "phase" of Attack
Mars. If you start to get low on balls, shoot for the alien targets.
Each "phase" will start you with a new ball save of it's own and give
you all the balls, so, you'll be afforded ANOTHER opportunity to shoot
for ramps and loops. Repeat this process for as long as possible and
your Attack Mars Champion score will begin to skyrocket!

There are a couple secret point scoring opportunities in the second
phase as well.
