Two strange things happened to me yesterday.

1.)
9 out 10 times that I make the first lock on my TSPP the game
registered it and than ends the ball? It looks like the 1st ball lock
switch is triggering the outhole switch or something? Can this be the
case.

2.)
Also I was locking balls during Alien invasion and two balls got
trapped behind the Itchy and Scratchy targets. After the second lock
the ball search started and it couldn't locate the balls. At the 3rd
ball search all drop targets opened and my balls were released while
the flippers where dead. So I couldn't save them! By the way that was
ball three of this game so I didn't make it.

Thanks!

Have you worked on the game recently ? Put in a new switch and wired it
wrong or reversed diode ? either way, it would be worth going over all your
switches, takes maybe 5 minutes, look for anything wired wrong, reversed
diode, something shorting to the switch lugs.

After that, run through switch test, and hit the playfield switches. Look
for any stuck closed or not working. LTG :)

You can't lock two balls in Itchy and Scratchy. It sucks when you get
two in there, because you have to hold the start button, and that
releases all currently locked balls. As for the flippers going dead,
you probably ran out of time; that is when the flippers go dead and
Alien Invasion ends.

Loyd I didn't work on the game and I just played 10 games and the
problem is gone?? Very strange also in switch test everything is fine.
I'm not sure what was wrong yesterday but now it is OK.

The itchy and scratchy lock is indeed terrible when you have two balls
in there. I have the machine now for 1 month and it is the first time
that I got to Alien Invasion so probably the time ran out. I think you
are right on that. The ball search laster 3 rounds so that could be 30
seconds easily.

So without doing anything I think both issues are solved!! Still the
first one is strange??

Not strange if you had a flaky switch and activating it a few times cleaned
it up. LTG :)

Thanks Lloyd! Besides I think that was it! The TSPP is pretty clean
but that is only part of the playfield that I still have to clean and
fix. You are probably right that the ball lock switch was flaky.
Tomorrow I will clean up the whole upper playfield!!
