Just picked up an EK (at last) but it needs new EK bumper caps at
the top of the playfield. Any idea if someone sells reproductions
of these?

Yeah, Pinball Resource has tons of them but he's not allowed to sell
them based on Licensing, I've already tried!

Yeah they are next to impossible to find because of the licensing,
however you can get undecorated plain ones.

Les,

I got mine from Steve at PBR. He has replacement blank caps.
They are listed as:
'Blank'
Slant Top
Deco Color: Yellow, White, Purple, Red, Green, or Blue
Misc Games
"Specify Color" Deco Slant BLANK

And I "THINK" the price listed is incorrect. I believe they were a bit
less expensive... but obviously check with them when ordering.

Then I made my own water slide decal to go on the blank.

I've got a few extra decal sets. I'll send you a set at your address
listed.

This all started with the blunder from down under...or was it Gene...or
both? I had hoped that when sane people regained control (Planetary Pinball)
they would work out a deal with Pinball Resource to get these banned
products back on the market.

It is idiotic for Steve to have the factory hot stamps for these items, but
they are being forbidden to use them. Some of the hot stamps had to be
recreated by others because an agreement couldn't be found. I wish the
parties could find common ground so these things could get made again.

Just a guess, but I suspect that it's not the Bally license that is
the problem, rather it's the "Evel Knievel" license. When Bally
licensed Evel's name way back when to make the machine, the license
likely had an expiration date. So Planetary Pinball can't issue a new
license to manufacture and sell new parts without going back to renew
the license with Evel's estate.

I think you're probably correct on that. A lot of the pinball artwork
like "Kiss", "Rolling Stones", "Playboy", etc. are all 3rd party
copyrighted. Something like the "EK" logo may not have enough demand to
warrant someone paying for the right to produce the caps, although you
can never tell.

If you have access to a CNC milling machine the stamps for pop caps and
drop targets aren't hard to make (although that would be illegal).

lol

3 years later the EK bumper cap licensing issue is still with us and I'd like to see if someone would help me out.

The last bits I need to restore my Evel K machine (owned since 1989, bought in rough shape) are the EK caps. I can get the red rings and put white centers in them, but I am no artist.

If anyone has stencils for the logo, I'd love to buy one
