Any ideas?
Thanks
Doesn't it tell you when you go into test what's causing the error?
Try setting sw alarm knocker to off to see if it still does it.
Weird.

I assume the knocker fires once - releases and doesn't hold. Also,
after that the game comes up fine and it plays fine and doesn't have
any problems. All diagnostics pass and there is only one knock with
power on.
I have had a couple Williams System 11 games hit the knocker once on
power up. I attributed this to (electronic) noise - weak capacitor,
or a power-on timing problem brought on by a weak passive component.
Since it didn't cause any problems beyond a singe knock on power up, I
didn't spend any time attempting to debug the problem.
I have game (sys11) that currently fires the knocker once on power
up, but has no other problems. If you are losing sleep over this
problem I will spend a bit of time looking for the root cause. But
you have to be losing sleep, having nightmares and having serious
trouble concentrating at work because of this problem.

---PS -- I assume WW to be Williams Whirlwind Sys 11B--
I concur with this - I have some sys11's that do this consistently
also. If you get the knock-knock-knock etc then it's telling you
there's an error, but just once is ok.

Yes It fires just once. No errors show up. I like to have all my
games error free and working as best as possible but I am not going to
spend countless hours tracking down something that I hear now is
commom among the Sys 11 games
I wonder if this means the diode is flaky on the knocker. It seems
odd that only the knocker would do this on power up and not some other
coil also, and why some machines are fine but others aren't. Or if
it's similar to GTB sys80 where you get the THUNK on power up for a
second.
