A buyer of mine paid $405 from Lynchburg, VA to New York, New York a
year and a half ago. Maybe they are off the beaten path?

Sounds a little high. I'd expect closer to $375.

Use Michelle at Precision, lots of threads w/her number. I have
shipped six games (separately) with her for $200 each since she moved
there. You have to ask for the OCC, other common carrier option.

I called them end of November and they quoted me $360 insured for
$2500. Today the quote was for $474 and was only including insurance
for $1500.

Sounds like a mistake to me, they haven't raised their rates by 25%
since November. I would call back and have them run it again.

Sounds high to me. I got a quote in Nov. for a shipping from NJ to
Seattle for 575 ish....Ended up with another shipper for 250 including
insurance. I did have to p/u from their local warehouse.If your
interested, I can dig up the name of the outfit ?

everybody's got to remember that Gas is going through the roof again.
Maybe they'd been thinking about a gas surcharge, and in late November
hadn't done it yet, and by now have.

No commercial trucks use gasoline. Diesel is the fuel of choice.

But isn't it when gas is expensive diesel is always MORE expensive?
So if gas is going up so is Diesel.

Hugh - you are correct. When we saw that big surge in gas prices
awhile back, diesel was even higher. Many truckers had to get out of
the business as they just could not make any money. Not sure why it's
higher. Isn't gas more labor intensive to refine than diesel??
