Now white arrows will be lit at two different brightnesses depending
on if they are one or two times value
Some very cool changes game is very close to complete

I am happy with the code now as I am sure all the other spidey owners

Well, some minor things are still missing...but it would be pointless
griping at this point. Sounds like a couple more updates are on the
way, and Lyman mentioned that he was working on more sounds and
animations, so I'm sure the remaining 'missing stuff" is on its way.

But hey...as long as you were wondering, here is what I noticed:

1) Sand Man doesn't have "hit" animations for his third level (or
"finish" animation).

2) The previously "unfinished" modes (MJ, Bugle, Amazing Spidey) have
some preliminary animations and sound calls, but aren't as polished as
some other stuff in the game. Obviously...this is subjective. More
stuff might get done here, but who knows...they are pretty decent as-
is.

3) I'm not good enough to get to "Super-Hero" (with the glass on). I
don't know if it has completed animations yet.

It'll be complete when they stop putting out updates for it. That's
all I know.

Later!

The revisions are awesome! The white arrow thing looked like a
possible bug to me, it stayed dimly lit even after I hit the shot.
I'll have to pay more attention next time, and see what causes this.
The new animations on the loops are awesome, and even Daily Bugle
mode, which still has little in the way of animations, has lots of
cool sound bites. As prev mentionioned, Mary Jane, and Amazing Spider-
Man have some new animations. Attract mode is way cool.
My favorite addition, and I can't believe nobody's mentioned this yet,
when you play black suit multiball, the guitar riff gets a little
higher in pitch with each successive shot. A really nice touch.
Makes a great multi ball even better, kind of heightens the tension.
Well done.
The only thing I didn't really get was the match animation. Don't get
me wrong, I'm glad it's there, but after the first time I watched it,
I kinda scratched my head and went "WTF?" It made me laugh in a
strange way.
Overall, I am more than pleased. A lot of bells and whistles added
here. But what I think is most important, is the word coming directly
from the horse's mouth, that there is more on the way. That's all I
needed to hear.
Once again, thanks Lyman!

Match Animation: Basically, the Green Goblin gasses Spidey to sleep.
It's from the first movie.

Don't worry...my wife didn't get it, either.

Daily Bugle DID have a ton of new sounds...so did "Amazing Spider-
Man." I didn't make it too far into the MJ mode...drained before I saw
anything happen. "Bonesaw" looked like it had a new entrance. I never
started the Hobgoblin mode.

Later!

Agreed on all fronts. Lyman is doing an awesome job.

Also agreed on the fact that I was left scratching head in confusion
after I saw the match animation. What in the world was that? Too dark
and too hard to decipher. I'd love to see a straight forward animation
of Spidey himself swinging from buildings and then shooting a web for
example with the match numbers at the end of the last one. Straight
forward easy to decipher and understandable as a match animation.

The light show at the end of the game is probably the best use of theme
music and light i've ever seen on a pinball.

Well, I haven't seen the match sequence you guys are talking about -
but it seems the concept is - since it's game over, the bad guys (in
this case Goblin) got Spidey!

What does the animation look like? Or - is it just Goblin's voice?
That would be confusing.

It's a rotoscope of a scene from the first movie but it's so "mushed"
looking it's hard to tell what your actually looking at. It's just too
much going on and very un-pinball like as far as match animations go.

I would like to see Spidey get some respect in this game and some top
billing for once instead of being everyone's bitch. I understand that
you the player are supposed to be Spidey but the entire game seems a
little bit too focused on the bad guys. Let's get some animations of
the good guy in there.

I seem to recall that someone did a mockup animation of exactly that... ;-)

It'd have to be damn good to top Funhouse's light/sound show when you
get a high score...

Glad to hear this game is finally about finished.
Now time to move on to Monty Python! ( hint hint :)

Played new code for 5 hours tonight, can't find any bugs to complain about
yet. Everyone has to remember that the dmd animation is digitized down to
orange dots and you will lose lots of detail. The way it was done is
intresting but you can't please everyone. I finished MJ twice and after the
second time realized MJ was kissing spidey upside down. Some of the clips
are too short to figure out exactly what sene they are but this is Lyman's
baby and he is doing an awesome job. I did find it more easy to figure out
which shots were 2x and 3x. I say let him put whatever he wants in the code
for display and sound cause this release made my night and I can't wait to
see what he puts out next. Keep up the great work Lyman!!!!!

Thanks

Well don't you know? Derek now decides when a game is complete, not the
game designer or the company that made the game.

Many thanks to Lyman.
Official release will be posted on Sterns site in about a week.

Message from Lyman.
********************************

Hi everybody,

If you want to download the latest version of Spider-Man, you can
find
it here:

http://www.sternpinball.com/downloads/S-Mbeta.zip

I am not going to have time to test and release the version in all
languages before I leave for Pittsburgh tomorrow morning and I do not
want to risk putting something out that is not more thoroughly
tested. I am also unsure about the change I made to the white arrows
to show the status of the 2x/3x for the shots and want some more time
to think about that. In the meantime, if people would like to
provide
feedback, that would be great. This version is not a guarded secret
so anyone and everyone can let others know about it if they so
desire. It will be removed when I release what will be 1.9 in the
normal way after I return from Pittsburgh.

There are still quite a few things that need some work. Most of them
are in the animation/speech area. These will all hopefully get
sorted
out and completed in time for Spider-Man Black in early/mid November.
I will hopefully hand out 2.0 around that time and then most likely
another minor incremental version at the end of November after the
Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanks everyone.

- Lyman
