Using the tester helped me to quickly fix a system 7 board by showing me
that a display problem was linked to the main board.
I must admit it's pretty cool to see the lamp matrix lights and solenoid
LEDs flashing when you power up the game on the workbench. It makes "Leon"
testing a snap!
Another bonus is that it is portable. You can test the main features of a
CPU board in a machine. You would do this by just re-pluging a few
connectors for the areas you wish to test. This makes it easier to see where
problems are for the switch matrix, lamp matrix or solenoids. i.e. to prove
that they are on the playfield and not on the CPU!
