Anyways, here's the link...and my house is the first half of the
episode.

I was impressed with your gameroom, always had wondered if the guy
was on rgp, nice collection!
but why are you wasting gameroom real state with a huge bowling alley?
you could easily fill that space with lots of pins! ;)
the good side is that your kids and friends have a place to play some
pinball even if they intended to play bowling or some air hockey, and
hopefully they'll get the pin-fever sooner or later. :)

Damian

Helluva nice house and setting! I wouldn't change a thing. With the
exception of a few more pins and a bar in the gameroom, that's just
how I'd do it. Congrats.
Todd
you have truly an amazing house and pin collection...WOW...congrats.
My gameroom looks a bit sick after looking at yours...
Anyways, thanks again for the kind words.
Thanks for sharing - beautiful house and family, and the best home
gameroom I have ever seen!
who are you, what do you do, how can i get involved, and why am i not
there right now challenging on those games?

Oh my...he honestly said "Now back to pinball (before I am taxed out
of being able to afford to own them)". Exaggerate much???
Thank you for sharing. Any pinball exposure is good exposure
especially a piece like this where it has KIDS lined up playng pinball
machines. Now pack the family up and head to Michigan in April for the
Michigan Pinball Expo! We would love to have ya!

Holy cow, what a spread, what line of work affords such pleasures of life, I
need a change in profession!
Adam
Very nice, thanks for sharing. Which pin is your favorite?
Mike
Thanks for sharing that! How cool is a bowling alley (two lanes no
less) in your basement? To say nothing of the A-list pin setup and the
awesome wooden slide to get to the basement!
If I can be so bold to offer my unsolicited opinion....You appear to
have a very nice family and more importantly they seem very "Well
grounded" and do not come across as entitled to all the wonderful
possessions that your success has provided. I've watched several Kids
Cribs episodes and some of the kids have an air to them that's a bit
off-putting and very snobbish. I got none of that vibe from your
family at all, you seem very much "the family next door", if that
makes sense. Hope I'm not being too forthright in offering my
opinion, as judging others can be an offensive endeavor.
Thanks again for allowing us into your home Russ!
By the way, how does MTV approach people with the notion of putting
you, your family and their home on national TV? I'm just curious as
to the pitch.
Steve
Since your home theater is every bit as amazing as your game room, I'm
going to guess that you are also a member at AVS Forum?
Congrats on having such a great house, designed with family in mind!!

Russ, nice to see you share your great collection and game room !
You need to come over and see the new Pinball shop ..
Have you been playing the Whirlwind much ?
Jim
Haha, just keep on sticking your head in the sand and listening to
mainstream media and CNN. At least we can say we told you so when it
happens.

I'm gonna go burn down my house....

Very cool. Love the bowling alleys.
Sweet.

I'll try to answer a couple questions...
My favorite game changes regularly, but I would have to say Monster
Bash is the one I go back to most. There is just something about that
game...the lighting, sound, art--it just has it all. Maybe its
because it was the very first game I restored and did a complete
playfield swap on. Or maybe its because my first memories of playing
it was at Disneyland years ago when my oldest was just little--And her
and I both couldn't get enough of it! I always associate that memory
with the game. Pins have a way of doing that. :)
I do love the diffused lighting around the ceiling of the arcade. I
put it in specifically for pins to prevent the playfield glare. I
would highly recommend something similar to anyone considering the
lighting for their gameroom.
As far as what I do for work...I started importing rail cars of lumber
from Canada in 1998 and selling it to various lumber yards and
manufacturing yards in this region of the country. So my advice to
anyone looking to start or build a company...find a niche in a field
that interests you and do a better job than other people that are
doing the same thing. Price, quality of product, and service...focus
on all three but you only need to be clearly better than the other
guys in any 2 of the 3 areas to be successful.
Well, I guess it's back to more reading and less posting for me. :)
Yea, and this is why he probably waited so long to post anything....or
others just decide not to post at all.

Nice, thanks for sharing. I think Jersey Jack is trying for 2 out of
3 of our points so lets see how he does!
I have to say, though, I had the pleasure of visiting with Jim at last
years Expo. Hence the question, where are the rest of the wives?
Sorry, I had to. ;-)

I was going to ask the same thing.
But considering the amount of work required to oversee whole house project
I'm guessing there was not much time left for a top notch DIY theater.
If I am correct, who was the designer and installer?
I don't think there are many lotterys with take home payouts that could even
pay for that house. 10mil+?
I am absolutely in love with the bowling alley. I wanted to put one in
my house, but after looking and discovering you need at least 65' of
space (for which I would have to dig over to my neighbors house) It
just won't fit. I also love the theater rooms (that I had room for,
and built) and my 6 pins, don't match up to what you have, but its a
start.
I built my basement and game room, to keep the kids and their friends
at our house, and it seems to work! Who could refuse XBox on a 100"
screen? Unfortunately my pins don't get played as much as I would like
though as I think the kids these days are scared of them or don't know
what to do.
Beautiful area up there in Utah, we used to go fishing up at Panguitch
Lake.
Corey
hey I basically retracted my comment and admitted my stupidity.
I meant to post that from this email.
But seriously, really nice gameroom.
Damn Greg, you gotta warn me before you post something like this. I was
laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Probably because I can totally
relate to how you feel.
BTW Russ, absolutely stunning house and family. There is absolutely
nothing in that house that I would change - it is perfect. That
gameroom is utterly fantastic.

We had 9 people in our family too. I would not change that for the
world.
Of course Mom and Dad had to work two jobs a piece to support all of
us.
But it all turned out well. You don't see large families like that
today.
Very nice house and game room you have there Russ.
You are living the dream, good for you.
I wish you the best....wait ....you already have that :).
Thanks for sharing.
Bill
No need to post less. We just want to enjoy all things pinball. So,
no matter how many machines people have they always want one more.
What's your holy grail pin or your old favorite you just can't seem to
find?
Mike
Russ,
Just to satisfy my interest, how many square feet are there in your
beautiful home?
Larry W.
Yes, could someone please upload the video to YooToob so those of us
in the Great White North can see the gameroom? PLEASE?
Kev
Dang man... I can think of at least one activity you enjoy more than
pinball :) ... Congrats to you and your family, looks like an awesome
place to enjoy life...
Yep, after decades of spending more than earning, it makes sense to
stop sticking your head in the sand and try to get the countries
finances in place. It's a very sane thing to do, but instead, that
moment is being postponed more and more, so the blow that will
inevidently come, will strike harder the longer you wait. If the
probably inevitable moment of higher taxes comes under either a
republican or democrat, it'd be very strange to solely blame the
government of that moment.
Alternative is letting the dollar collapse, but I don't see that as a
real sollution, for taxes might not grow, but wealth will decline
another way.
I'm not an American, but as far as I've seen CNN at least is way less
bad than Fox. Other USA-media I don't really know. What are the
better / more neutral (not-mainstream) and nuanced media in the USA?

Now there's some wisdom few follow. That sounds like success, earned.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Actually I think Walter said that.... ;)
