1979 Gottlieb Dragon, need to sell to get my Grail pin!
It has a 6 month old Pascal all in one board in it and was repined.
Cleaned and polished playfield, new bulbs.
Plays like a champ! No repairs needed. Has all paperwork including the
Pascal manual.
Back glass has very minor flaking, I'd say it's a strong 7 out of 10.
Play field has _very_ _minor_ wear spots, an 8 out of 10. Cabinet has
typical wear, a 7 out of 10.
Listed in NH's- C's list if you want to see pics of it or let me know
your e-mail and I'll send them.
Private seller, not a business. Located in So. Maine
Price drop to $550 FIRM

dragon (gottliebs version) doesn't get any love on here. It took me 6
months to sell mine even at $200 working.

That's a fair deal given it has the Pascal board in it. Good luck with

geez, mine should sell easy, I don't understand why there's no interest.

I take it you think that's too much, good thing no one's holding a gun
to your head forcing you to hand over the money for it.

The problem is that Dragon is arguably one of the all time worst pins ever made. With the pascal board in there it, is still a great deal, but it might be easier to sell as Pascal Board for sale including Free Gottlieb Dragon...

Great deal on a shitty game.

I'd buy it if I were local...that Pascal is worth $300 alone.

LOL Tom, understood. Ok, so the Pascal is worth $250, back glass $100,
playfield is nice enough to draw $200 at least, box (if someone wanted
to build their own pin) $50, legs $20, back box door $25, that's $645 in
parts alone. C'mon, It's worth $550 all day long, it needs nothing, plug
and play! :)

Thanks for all the support RGP members! (not directed at everyone) Ya
know, opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one. I don't understand
some people's urge to reply negatively to a post that they have no
interest in buying. Why bother to reply? Just move on to the next post
and leave the person selling the item with a chance to sell. Big deal
that you're not interested! I'm pretty sure no one cares that you're not
going to buy it. Point being, this is a great game, in very good cond.
and my opinion is that it's worth $650, so the price of $550 is a pretty
good deal for someone looking for a nice, clean, working pin. Move on if

I would so ignore these knucklehead trolls here, especially Frank footinmouther. Just do your thing.

I have listed a few machines on here that people hated, posted negative things about, the way I looked at it, every time someone posted negative or otherwise, it moved my posting to the top. and low and behold, someone who was interested in my machine came along and bought it, I feel that it wouldn't have sold if not for the naysayers moving my posts to the top.

Dragon will always hold a soft spot in my heart. It was the game used
at the first Gottlieb service school I attended at Currie Distributing
in Campbelville/Guelph, Ontario. Taught by Gottlieb field engineer
George Offshack who now owns and operates a campground in Gilmour,
Ontario. A class act.

We had a few on the route I worked on a couple years later and they
were kept as they made steady money until the Eight Ball Deluxe's were
released by Bally.

To BUYBEST, the cashbox is indeed full...... of air, a few old fuses,
bulbs and maybe a Vari Target armature or two.

I just ment, that it's a hard sell on here. You can't really give that
game away, and unfortunately it's worth more in parts than it is
together. Lot of games are like that. Williams Lazerball can't even
sell for $250 fully working in fairly nice shape. So Dragon isn't the
only one to fall victim to this. I'd put that board into something
else, and fix the old board to dump this game. :(

Thanks MaineGMan. Just making sure. Neo is correct when he states some
games are a hard sell on this group and you are better off selling on
cl or ebay. I have a Supersonic that is a parts game because if get's
little love on this group and just doesn't bring the money. I won't
part it out because I use it to improve my repair skills and cosmetic
pf skills. Why experiment on an A game when one has a C-D game. Some
games just don't bring the dough. I like it and in the end that is
what matters.

I think a few people now know your game is for sale. ;)

Thanks, but several things wrong with that plan.
1) I need to sell this to get my grail pin
2) I refuse to "butcher" a perfectly good, playable pin
3) I don't have the original boards, I bought it with the Pascal all in
1 board installed.
4) I have a real hard time believing this pin isn't worth every penny of
my price.
5) I believe this is a great pin which should be very reliable for a
long time and maybe by word of mouth, someone here will pass it on to
someone looking for a very inexpensive pin. :)

With 4 million games in the US made, and maybe 10% left available, or
400K, and maybe 100K in hands of collectors there surely is a lot of
hardware out there to be found yet. Pricing, no worries, its upside
down until maybe this Fall when interest wanes and folks realize there
is a TON of time and investment needed to get parts and pieces. This
will help in the demise of the spike.

Issue #1, you have a list and a grail pin.

Issue #2, you are somehow attached to something like a game box with
legs. Its not a girl, its a game.

Issue #3, you made a bad decision... Have you been doing this your
entire life, making decisions based on sales verbage or lack of info/due
dilligence.

Issue #4: continuance of issue #3

The CPM gang had a good time playing Dragon at PATZ this year. I like
how the rollover & bonus X rules work. The playfield layout allows for a
good amount of "zip" when it's clean with snappy flippers. And it has a
great art package. $550 for a working Dragon in good shape sounds like a
deal to me. To each his own, obviously.

In our increasingly insane pin economy, I don't see how *any* working
post-woodrail in good shape could be worth a penny under $500.

I keep picking up pins that work and in cosmetically 7-8 condition for
under 200. The problem is you guys either are not looking hard enough,
or don't care to coordinate with a seller to make it happen. The 50-100
dollar junker/parts machines are still out there in volume. The problem
I see clearly is folks are caught up in the BS of the times, and those
are going to be going away as a fad soon enough.

"You should write a story or two about how you used RGP to get your
asking price, and how I helped you get it. There is a love/hate
relationship in their not too deep to be found."

So many things wrong with that statement (as usual).
1) RGP had nothing to do with the sale.
2) -_You_- most certainly had nothing to do with the sale.
3) If you think you helped, you really need to see a "specialist".

4) There is no relationship, period.
5) "their" ?? (Yup, spelling/grammer, or lack of, explains a lot)

Frodd a love/hate relationship involves someone loving you half the
time. I can assure you no one on RGP loves you but most do have the
hate part covered!

haha, Frank tries to act smart and uses big words and a sarcastic wit to
try to sound smart, but if you read his stuff, you'll see he hasn't much
more than an elementary education. Smoke and mirrors!

This thread has become such a heated battlefied of hate and hubris
that I think we are going to need to demand some proof that game did
indeed sell, and that the seller did indeed get his asking price for
it.

We simply can't go by heresay to consider this thread over.

What most have said here is completely true. It will tuff to find a
pinball collector (best definition of what you find here on RGP) that
will pay your price for a Dragon. And you have already stated your
position on it.

So, I make the following suggestion: Take the game to a local Pinball
Show to sell it and for others to play it. There, you will find the
"interested" public that may be willing to pay what you believe to be a
fair price for a first time game. You are correct, there are plenty of
families that would enjoy having that as their first game and they don't
need to drop $1K or $2K for their first pin.

Good Luck with the sale.

Umm, RB....please read my previous posts, I sold this pin yesterday to a
gentleman in Hebron, Me. for my full asking price. I have 5 other pins
and 6 arcade games. I am a member of BPA and NEACF. Needless to say, the
Dragon was not my 1st pin, or my only pin. I didn't expect a collector
to buy the Dragon, nor was I under the impression that RGP only had
"pinball collectors" as members. I thought RGP welcomed all that were
interested in pins, from people that simply liked pins, to expert
collectors. My ad was aimed at anyone that would be interested....not
specifically "collectors".
I also stand by a statement earlier in this thread from another member,
which is also my opinion, any pin that works, plays, all the lights and
functions work, has a decent playfield and backglass, and that needs no
repairs.....is worth $500 all day long. Regardless of personal opinions
of the specific game. Maybe that's just my love of pins, but I was
proven right.

LMAO! I have the cash in my pocket, the buyer is happy as hell, I have
removed my ad's that were posted elsewhere, the pin is no longer in my
game room. Period.
And for curiosity sake, how would you suggest I "prove" that I sold it
for my asking price?

A notarized receipt will do.

I have no doubt you sold it. But you've crowed about "getting your price," and inflated a banal, ridiculous thread past 50 responses.

You are going to have to prove to us that you got $550.

With all due respect sir, I believe you sold it for $450.

Thought this was over.

Why can't some of you be happy he sold it and made someone else happy
in the process. Maybe we even gained a new member of the pinball
community.

Instead we all sit and wonder why there is so much hatred, division
and vitriol in this country. All this over a stupid pinball. Come on
people you can do better than this.

my $.02. Off the soapbox.

You guys are all nerds. 550 for a game that someone put work into is cheap. I think some people here have had their weeners dry for too long and its giving them some major baditude. Just because you might not be keeping up with everyone else cash wise dont get all pissy at the world.. just get a better job!

Then it's settled.

The game sold below asking price.

It's rare, but FF actually got
this part right.
Then again, the same could be
said about deals on anything whether
collectable or not, having an owner
that no longer wants it. No real
problem there, just a matter of
priority. We're talking pinball here.
There are times when it just makes more
sence buying plug-and-play for $550,
rather than spending time with shopping
up and negotiation hassle for less.

Look man, I just want to see this thread reach it's proper conclusion.

And you just coming in here and bragging doesn't wash with me.

We have higher standards of proof here at RGP.

It did reach it's proper conclusion, I sold the pin.
So I'm as happy as could be. :D

I could give a crap what does and doesn't "wash" with you. You're
nobody.

And, if RGP has higher standards...how in the hell did you and Frank F.
get in here?
Now, if you feel you just have to get the last word in this thread, go

big words, sarcastic wit, sounds to be rather smart both with smoke and
mirrors to add depth along with effect, which will affect your views,
and mostly get you to the point of theirs :) Boys, lighten up, your

Have we gotten to the bottom of this yet?

I still haven't heard from a notary public on this.
