Hello All,

Looks like I am going to embark on a full restoration of my Funhouse,
so I now need to find out the PERFECT color match for the cabinet. I
am sure that someone here knows what that is, and I intend to use a
paint gun to spray the cab so I would also need to get some
recommendations on the KIND of paint to use as well.

So please let me know your thoughts, and thanks again.\

the problem is, is that every cabinet is slightly different in shade
and there is no generic match. They fade from sun, UV and what not.
Cigerette smoke will change teh color and just age. You want a
perfect match, you'll have to match it up by hand or take it in to get
matched.

And be aware that each game is slightly different, due to the fact
that paint colors vary slightly from batch to batch and paint fades
over time.

Pretty expensive stuff, though. How much paint would you need to do
the full cabinet.

I would like to follow up on this also since I am planning on a re-
paint on my FH.

The point is if you are not trying to match existing color.. what is
the best color to use to be as close to original as possible. I have
heard Krylon True Blue is a good match and good choice if you don't
have the ability/equipment to spray with a gun.

What is the consensus out there on this Krylon color.

What color would I use if i wanted to shoot it myself (aside from
buying from that link)

Thanks

The folks here said that it thins to about 50/50 and that a lrlle goes
a long way. Thay also mentioned that The stuff is oil based and was
really thick. I decided to get 1 ounce each of the Funhouse blue/
purple and one ounce of the totc purple (at their advice) in order to
match the color on my game. I will play around and experiment with
the product, and when I am ready for the full cab repaint.... I will
go back for the Funhouse blue/purple

OK UPDATE !!!!!!!

As it turns out... the TOTC is THE color that most closely matches the
Funhouse Blue. I still needed a little of the Fubhouse to lighten it
up in a few small areas. My initial tests needed about 3:2 paint to
thinner to spray it effectively, and allow for decent coating.

I think that is a 2010 post. But...

I took a the wood piece at the back of the playfield to Lowes and they matched the color beautifully. It also matched my WH2O. The cabinet looked terrible but with this, the touch up is hard to see.

Not sure which of these numbers means anything but believe the 4th line is the mix:

Lowe's of Lexington Va #1528 540-463-2284 Tinter D Hydrochroma
SW Precision Color, 1 quart size container, , /ilnt Semi-Closs Infinity
772926 UD
8900-11.5, 8916-1.75, 8930-1Y43.5, 8983-39.5
[next is the bar code that I dripped paint across (of course)]
1528-D20161220113207

The can is Sherman Williams Infinity interior semi-gloss acrylic.

Use at your own risk. Please don't expect me to pay up if it comes out looking pink. :-)

I can send you a photo if you PM me.
