I have decided to sell my Black Knight project pin. I bought it from
a fellow RGPer at the start of the year. Spent a few months getting
it up and running 100%. Had all the boards rebuilt (driver, system
board, sound board, power board, display board. all of them)
Replaced a couple displays. It was at 100% until a few weeks ago.
Powers up, attract mode works fine, all the coils work. However, it
doesn't register credits, so you can't start a game. My friend told
me it's just a fuse (just kidding). I am pretty sure it is 1 row of
swtiches (specifically the coin door switches. whatever row/column
they are on). I am just too swamped with everything going on to spend
the couple hours tracing wires to find where it is broken. I am sure
someone more enthusiastic than me could find it in no time & would
have this thing back at 100%.
Now to the condition. The backglass isn't so hot. It's not the worst
I have seen, but it is pretty declamated (is that a word?). The
cabinet is pretty good, but there is some obvious wear and dings in
spots. The playfield is awesome. Very bright colors & minimal wear.
There was some magnasave wear (about the size of a pea) and it is
covered with a new decal. Drop targets all have new decals. All the
plastics are really nice. In other words, this would be a perfect
candidate for an all out restoration.
I have a nice head and cabinet from a flash that I parted out & a box
of coils, switches, etc that I would be willing to throw in if you
wanted to do a full cabinet restore. The cabinet includes the
transformer and system 6 PSU board.
I am looking for a firm $700 for everything (if you dont want the
extra cabinet and parts, i'll knock some off the price). I have much
more into this, but given the current working state, I am willing to
take a loss on it. Like I said, it will take next to nothing to get
it back in action, I am just lacking the motivation to do so (and my
wife is pressuring me to free up some space). If you want to come
check it out, we can run through all the tests on it so you can check
all the coils, switches and displays, etc.
