How about none of the above.
Try something new.

Horror - Zombie, Slasher, Halloween, etc
SciFi - Aliens, etc
TV Series - Dexter, Spartacus blood and sand, etc

I have to agree with a zombie theme, although I voted "funland" because I'm an amusement park junkie.

What about a jungle/wtchdoctor theme?

I voted for the western theme, perhaps influenced by the True Grit
remake I recently watched?

A non-licensed "modern western" themed pinball would be something we
haven't seen in a long while.

After voting I was surprised to see how many others voted for this as
well!

Mouse trap would be too deep for the average player, Chutes and
Ladders would be a better choice.
I am waiting for a Big Lebowski pin with nihilist drop targets that
open Treehorn Terrace.
Hit all the targets on TT to start Caucasian multiball beat that mode
and get "The Dude abides" then collect the toe target to start the
wizard mode.
Beat the game and a doobie rolls down the glass from a dispenser in
the head.
Of course there would have to be a bowling lane with pins, Donny's
lane and when you get a strike Donny says "I'm rollin' rocks tonight".

I must say I like that idea as well. I have no idea how you'd
integrate it in a pinball tough, but I'm sure more creative minds
could think of something nice.

Well...

If your an over forty male living in the U.S. and you read RGP on a
regular basis then you are already living in a land of Zombies.
Today, Zombies exist in every aspect of your life. Don't believe me,
then take a walk into a grocery store, bank, gas station or fast food
restaurant. Check out the youth of today "working" behind the counter
and you'll encounter a zombie staring back at you with incorrect
change. Try to talk to an intelligent human being on a corporate
"help line" and you can almost smell the drooling zombie on the other
end. Turn on the TV and you'll experience zombie programming in your
face. Today's music scene is a wasteland as well as the political
scene. Think about it, zombies are all around you and they are
multiplying.

A zombie themed pinball would provide a small sense of victory over
the growing horde outside.

If I could add a theme, I would add a serious Medieval theme, like a
Medieval Madness without the cheesey humor. Lotr felt like more of a
movie theme than an actual medieval theme.

Something where you defeat hordes of monsters, slay dragons and
demons, become the king! And gain levels/power so you can actually
accomplish those things. Even work in health/damage/healing/dying.
Lots of targets would be a must. It would have to be pretty deep.

In the absence of that theme, I voted for Magic(the closest one).
Theatre of Magic was such a fun pin. A new attempt of that quality
would have to be fun.

Looks like a Western theme is leading the poll. The more I think about
it, the more that this makes sense. Its a good theme for a pin, and CC
is rare (and unfinished).

I agree. It's almost embarassing. Anytime theme is brought up, many
people automatically go to "Well, if it were zombies, that would be
cool".

I think it's like Gangsta rap. Angry white guys like it, even though
it's talking about killing angry white people, because it speaks to
their suburban angst. LOL

So they like Zombies because they like hot women that don't move out
of the way too quick. LOL

Ever see anybody like Fat zombies? I rest my case.

You are missing the very best zombie movie IMHO. John Romero's
original "Day of the Dead" Just a classic social commentary on
comercialism.

To me a zombie pin pits the player against a well understood
adversary. Lots of idea for modes have already been discussed. And
that zombie theme is "hot" right now so the game should get plenty of
attention that pinball on location needs right now.

Might have needed a few more choices.

A Magic Theme - I've got one, don't really want another
A Bowling Theme - maybe for the people who love bowling, makes for a
nice EM not sure in modern form - ramps?
A Circus Theme - we have one that is loved by many (not me) don't need
another
A Western Theme - By default the best option
A Funland Theme - why bother - FH has this as best forever!!
A Movie Theme - Leave it to monkey see monkey do Stern
A Super Hero - Leave it to monkey see monkey do Stern

Not going to add a vote to the Western theme as it'll be getting lots
of default "best of the lot" votes already.

a George Jones track in the background. Alien whiskey, and a piano in
the saloon playing Roadhouse Blues and the Dukes of Hazzard theme. I
want a REAL f'n ball lock not some virtual ball lock bull crap. I
want a real deal fun full plunge skill shot not some half ass dribbler
drivel. I want a plunger spring that will shoot it around like Nascar

some Native American ghosts with tomohawks. I want Alien buffalo and
Indians galavanting triumphantly. I want a Martian wearing feathers
and a sweet lil las doing a square dance in the latest Martian fashion
a.k.a. daisy dukes. I want a nebula, a supernova and a black hole. I
want some stairs going up in the saloon. Tumbleweeds, tobaccer spit
and handlebar mustaches, and put those on the guys too. And please
put some T&A in the game pinball has not been the same since it got
neutered. Throw a damn zombie in too so the masses will stfu. And
put Lil Wayne as the Martian sheriff so i'll stfu. And put that big
buff Asian aqua superman girl from your webpage on their doing
something. Put a real damn knocker in it, and when it knocks put a
picture of an annoying squeaky lil chipry bird getting pissed on by a
real cock knocker (like those bumper stickers where the other company
is getting peed on). I want cows mooing, and more cowbell. I want a
video mode that says way to go you're pretty good why don't you go
play pacman. And I want Pacman on there just chillin, knowing that
he was the next big thang. I want Pacman to have a cowboy hat on and
a bolo tie. Miss Pacman too. I want diamonds on the soles of her
shoes, and I want her shoes to be made of disco balls. I want THO's
and I want booty cheeks. I want the start button to be green. I
don't want an uppost inbetween the flippers. I do want a flipper top
middle pointing down at the other two flippers that has a magnet in
front that holds the ball for the shootout at high noon. I want HiGH
NOON madness multiball AND Midnight Madness too. I want a self
leveling playfield so the game is never out of wack. I want it on the
internet in DSL speed broadcasting to the op at the other end when a
switch error occurs. And I don't want a tv screen in it. I do want
some magna save and I want John Youssi artwork all over this beotch. I
want it to come standard with some custom back alley creations
pinballs and some pdi non glare glass. I want Cliffy and Mantis on
the Black hole. I want remote battery pack. I want the backbox
designed so there is no glare on the glass. I want the cabinet made
of plastic like the megatouch games. I want Michael Jordan or his
likeness on there. He can be jumping over the whole galaxy wearing
Air Jordans. I want big bad ass belt buckles and super fast orbits.
I want that bad ass looney tune character with the cowboy hat and the
other one too, the one that's always going after Bugs. I want the
topper of all toppers to come standard so i can take it off and sell
it a la carte. I want a dog and a cat. I want a donut on the pf like
truck stop and a cup of coffee. I want a can of red bull somewhere.
I want Old Glory, and I want it on the pf not just some sticker
obstructing the view of the pf. I want a Martian driving a corvette,
and a cowboy surfing behind a saucer spinning his hat like he's in a
rodeo. I want a skateboard on there somewhere. I want the big dipper
and I want lady liberty holding a friggin' pinball and a beacon of
light. I want Garth Brooks to be on it somewhere wearing one of his
crazy ass shirts. I want the inlane to say this game inspired by the
RGP and designed, invented, built and brought to you by the one and
only JPD!!!! I want it to say "We also make real pinballs for the
whole world to enjoy, and universe too." Do WRK SN! Other than all
that I think everyone's ideas are good. Thanks for asking!

I only chose Funland because there was no Frank Zappa option

I voted for funland theme - maybe a cross between funhouse style and
something a bit creepier - Funhouse, CV and evil all combined - but
with the pop style - not really into the whole zombie thing

Night of the Living Dead. From the 60s, and not in color!

JOhn,
Why not something RGP and you both like? Zombie BMX (bike) Riders?
It could be fast and deadly with a ton of funny stunts. It would
scream for a movie deal from hollywood in a sec.
Just think about it. It could have that fear similar to the paperboy
who wants "TWO dollars" in the movie Better of Dead, but with more
hurry up chases and tricked out ramps.

I'll give you Shawn, that movie is great. But 28 days later isn't
really a zombie movie. The people are infected with a virus, they are
not truly the undead.

And the Will Smith one is a lame remake. I like the Vincent Price
version much better.

I don't think so. Zombies are scary because the are us and the people
we love. They are a slow yet inevitable threat.

Sooner or later you will be one. They can not be talked to or stopped,
they are single minded and relentless. Sure, you can take out some of
them, but they will keep coming.

They represent humanity most basic fears. Death, and ourselves.

> Ever see anybody like Fat zombies?  I rest my case.

Um, yeah. You haven't seen that many zombie movies, have you? Zombies
come in all shapes, ages and sizes, just like us, because they ARE us.

Hi,

You would need a boatload of humor too! To soften the gore, like
a zombie bowling mode and pin-the-tail on the zombie....etc....

Extra Zombie Ball? when lit??

I voted for another movie theme, then I thought - who the hell decides
if a game is gonna be exciting just from knowing the theme? I can see
where the interest in potentially buying a game before it's even on
the drawing board could be affected by a theme, but whether it will be
exciting? Yeah maybe if bowling bores one to tears, you'd be pretty
sure that that you would not expect that theme to excite you in a pin,
even if it executed the tie-in to bowling rules and strategy
brilliantly. But thinking just cuz you love High Noon or Shootout at
the OK Corral, a western theme is more likely to be exciting in play
than the bowling one, THAT escapes me.

No matter what theme will make it: pls make sure to include a real
final battle in the software.
Just finished first time SWEP1 Spirit and was rather dissapointed.

Western. There is a lot to work with, including some things that
Cactus Canyon may or may not have touched... Gold Rush,
Transcontinental Railroad, Wagon Trains, Shootouts, Buffalo Stampedes,
Stagecoach, Saloons...

Of course they are zombies. What else would you call them? They are
just not the slow moving traditional zombies your used to.

Why not do one after the black ops 9 that got Bin landin? Lots of
stuff to work with there, and it will let every North American
(including Canada) take a shot at that bastard.... I'd pay for that
oppertunity!
