THAT, in my opinion, would be AWESOME!
Chris
And now, my assistant Beaker will..... Does it get any better?

I wonder if they are looking to license a muppets redemption game,
much like, or on the playform of Simpsons Kooky Karnival.
I don't think they would do a Mupets Pin but who knows...
Tom
If this is true - i will have one. Will trade my AFM for it :)

Sorry, I'm afraid that's not possible since you have "AFM" in your
profile name, you'll have to keep it!

TZ is gone.... a name change has been a longtime coming.
My new name may need to be KERMIT_IRONMAN.

IRONMUPPET!
Movie due xmas 2011
Man the possibilities!
Hope Stern doesn't pull a re-themed pin again though.
Wow.. now that would be a great game theme! hopefully it will
happen!
I still think just a come back of the muppet show with guest
characters would be great fun.. though I doubt it will ever happen.
Movie first, where they 'save the station' in story, then tv series.
...easy peezy.
btw, anyone know what the start to finish/sale time is for a recent
stern pin?
How long is it actually 'in the pipeline' before it hits the street
(or home)?
Movie first, where they 'save the station' in story, then tv series.

I heard about Iron man in early 2009 - so 1 year? The buzz turned out
to be correct and, the game rocks so good job Stern - very happy.
We know that Stern will release a second half game (2 per year).
Speculation of this one is Tron, Avatar and now Muppets..... I would
guess that second half game is not Muppets due to the news just being
dropped - if that is reality perhaps April 2011. In anycase, i look
forward to whatever they bring - but Muppets would be a lock for
sales.

Will probably be a re-theme ironman with ironmonger replaced with Ocar
and trashcan rising from the play field. Don't forget a pigs in space
video mode and the Gonzo multi ball

This would be my favorite pinball machine theme ever!!! I love the
Muppets and would most definitely buy one NIB!

It sure is exciting to see people excited about a possible new Stern
pin! I agree, it would be a great theme.
Charlie L.
Might not want to get too excited. Muppets are now owned by Disney,
and I thought there were issues between stern and Disney
George M
That would be a GREAT theme!
But didn't the people "in the know" say that Stern would never work
with Disney again? Didn't they get lucky with the Marvel license and
not dealing with Disney? Disney has owned the Muppets for a LONG time
now...
Disney owns them, but the Muppets rights are controlled by the Muppets
Studio, LLC which is a subsidiary of Disney.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Muppets_Holding_Company
I'm not sure if this division is as difficult to work with as the main
studio which controls the rights to films such as Pirates of the
Caribbean? Let's hope not!
-Mike
I keep asking myself why Bally/Williams didn't pick up on it back in
the day, in the Muppets heyday???
Bip Bippadotta is cool.
This would be a great theme and a little surprised it wasn't mentioned
before. Coincidentally, I just bought the first 3 seasons of the
Muppet Show on dvd from Toys-R-Us (for $20 each!) and my 5-year old
daughter is watching through them now. Great fun! Maybe Stern can re-
theme the Sopranos pin?
To me, if it means that the end product is as high of a quality as
POTC was, I really have no issues with them watching their IP. POTC
is a great game!
> Might not want to get too excited. Muppets are now owned by Disney,

That's also a huge reason to not be excited about the movie either.
Jim Henson has been dead a long time. The Muppets were not magic.
Jim Henson was magic. When Jim Henson died Sesame Street went down
the toilet within 2 years. Disney Muppets are going to be completely
different and sterile, 95% designed to sell merchandise and sequels.
The original Muppets were barely merchandised at all. The art was
first, second, third, the education was 4th and 5th, and then they
made some lunchboxes as an afterthought.
A Muppets pin would have been fantastic in 1980. I have no faith
modern Disney can recapture any of what was right about them.

Other than a bit of artwork, POTC has practically nothing to
do with the movie. Its really just a pirate themed pinball.
Thats one of the reasons I sold mine.
I'd hope a Muppets pin would utilize the source material better.
Am i the only one that thinks this would NOT be a great theme????
Sure, to us 40-50 year olds that loved the TV show, its great... but
to younger people? Man, i TRIED to get my kids to watch the muppet
show DVD's and they were bored stiff and i was laughing my ass off -
they were looking at me like I was a weirdo. I dont see kids that can
drop coins into a machine even knowing what Muppets are - and the last
movies bombed while they were still popular... I have no faith in a
new movie... my 2 cents
Actually I am not sold on this at all either...
My kids would much prefer an i-carly or fanboy and chumchum pin...Or
the ultimate kids themed pin Spongebob.
(No I mean a real spongebob pin)
:)
Drew
Like when Homer Simpson tried to explain to Lisa and Bart what a
muppet was...
I love this Kermit joke...

Sounds like fun and several of you have come up with creative ideas
that make me hope that they are planning on doing this. I wonder if
Stern ever asks for ideas from this group or other pinball fans about
possible ideas for future games? It would seem like such a smart
thing to do and many times I've read ideas on this group that are so
fun sounding and creative!
My kids keep hoping for a Harry Potter ultra cool pinball. They'd
also like Spongebob or some of the other modern cartoons. I wish the
ones made with Bugs Bunny and some of the WB classic cartoon
characters were awesome!

FYI.. 2010 is 40th Anniversary of Seseame street on PBS.. So it could
be possible.. But would suck if it is not reality..
Jason Segel's in it, and that gives me faith. "I Love You Man" is
really funny, "Sarah Marshall" was good, too...he's been good since
Freaks & Geeks, really. I think he'll gel well w/ the
Muppets! ....and, it's called "The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made" -
so I mean...it HAS to be good or people can sue for false
advertising! :)
Greg
Aw man, I know Stern's been cheap w/ the toys lately - but having them
in a little balcony above the playfield, giving commentary on the
gameplay w/ some movement (mouths flapping, bouncing up and down when
they laugh) would be so great!
Greg
True.. or use Dora The Explorer (you probably could re-theme Indiana
Jones for it)
or Hello Kitty. That's also a universal theme with a very large fan-
base.
ciao,
Aeneas.

The movies have been really hit or miss. The Muppets in Space was
pretty blah. The Muppets Christmas Carol with Michael Caine was
excellent though and Treasure Island with Tim Curry really good as
well. It seems to work best with the Muppets the backround humor to
human acting/action.
How the new one will fair, who knows. Hard competing with the modern
films, the likes of Avatar and Transformers at the box office. They
have had a slew of great characters... but they are dated/old and
like boxers coming out of retirement. That alone doesn't count them
out of course, because you see revivals of older things (ie Iron Man),
but not having an interesting edgy side, makes it a uphill battle.

Maybe maybe not. The Muppets attraction at Disney California
Adventure, which is basically an update/replacement for captain eo, is
really great.
They could use Statler and Waldorf as the end of game DMD/LCD match
