George, I didn't think it was about "you can't please everyone all
the time" but more about you switching some part around like a
playfield on a game ? Please explain in a couple of sentences so we
all understand. Wasn't that the accusation ? Not that you didn't
please the buyer....
Bill
Didn't he also get banned from a pin show for behavior unbecoming?
My only experience with him is on RGP where he energetically and at great
length cultivated an aura of prickishness. Had him filtered for a long time
until he changed his postname. Probably time to add this one to the list...

Greed... It's people like this that hurt this hobby.
Bill
1K....Really.... Nowadays do you really thing you find a Spirit for
1k? Project or not....
Greeeeeedy GRRRRIILLEY!
George,
You are right, we have never done business, and we never will. You
'painted yourself in the corner' over the Punk machine and finally had
to admit that you swapped out the playfield before the pin was
shipped. That's a FACT that you can't dispute. You offered to
provide a partial refund for the unfortunate 'mistake'. That too is
an indisputable FACT. You also failed to provide the $300 refund
which is also a FACT.
My problem with you is that you screwed over my friend and could have
cleared up this whole mess with a simple $300 refund. If my integrity
was on the line over $300, I would have sent the money. You on
theother hand, made a shallow promise to pay and hoped the issue would
go away. It hasn't (and won't) and you are getting what you deserve,
to be called out as a poor example of a human being.
Of course you know all of this, you are just trying to play dumb,
something you apparently have a lot of practice at.
Regards,
Steve (in Escalon, CA)
Well, Geo, by posting here you've made it a public issue yourself.
While you admit "mistakes get made..." I'll give you credit for for not
saying HONEST mistakes get made.

That's funny as hell, what a prick to think he can ask that kind of
price! Even if someone were stupid enough to pay it still ridiculous!
Now I see why he didn't post a link to the auction in the OP because
he knew he'd get blasted for trying to RIP PEOPLE OFF once again...

I made a mistake and sent wrong pictures to a buyer. I tried to get
him to send me pictures of what his problem was but instead he decided
to come here and complain. It then became a free for all as you most
likely have seen.

You are correct we have never dealt with one another as far as I know.
But then again I don't know who you are because you hide behind a
false name. On the other hand my name is what I use and it has never
change as you so state.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Player 2 display looks funky, so does the front left corner of the
cabinet.
$9K? That seems a little steep. It's all because of Tuckey!!

I am glad to see that you have looked at the pictures. The displays
are perfect pictures do not capture displays well when they are
changing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I ask how you came up with that price??
Jess
It is the price that will make me decide to sell it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
$9000??? That is insane. Even if it was a game that I would ever
want, it is still a $1000 game at most in that kind of
condition. ???
John
When was the last time you seen one sell for $1000.00?

Yes, you are right we have never done business and never will.
FACT: The playfield was not swapped after the sale. Your friend got
the wrong pictures.
I admitted my mistake and offered a refund.
Your friend continued to make his own false statements about me just
as you are today.
FACT: This is not your business, it was your friends and he still
knows the correct ending.

No, I placed an ad on Ebay others decide to bring it here so I decided
to answer all their (and your) kind thoughts. At least I was man
enought to admit my mistake many others have not.

No, the funny thing is it is a free world. If I own it I can ask
whatever I want for it. I am not forcing anyone to buy it. If someone
deceides to pay that price than I would say they did not think they
were being "ripped off"
Thanks for your Religous thoughts.

What a piece of work George Riley is, he continually proves he's
snake oil (investor) in sheep's clothing (collector). I've always
said
that it's all about the money with ol' George. He's proved it with
almost every FS/FA post he's done since he first showed up on RGP.
The
only collectors he treats somewhat fairly are the one's close enough
to get to him if something goes wrong. Any long distance buyer should
beware since he doesn't really care once he has your money (post
about
the Punk above is the latest proof on record). It's interesting to
note that as the economy gets worse, he seems to get crazier with his
prices.
LOL, keep your games for now George, the fire sale will be much
more fun to watch later. Don't bother sending me one of your emails
you're known for, I'm posting from a dead account.
-S (CARGPB1)
Oh, Steve the great Gottlieb Collector
You purchased a James Bond parts machine from me 12 years ago for
$200.00
8 years later I hear from another buyer in CA that you were upset with
your purchase.
Really I said.........after 8 years and a huge $200.00 sale he is up-
set?
I still not sure what happened with that sale as all you do is bad
mouth me time and time again.
Maybe your up set because my collection made it in the book and not
yours?
No fire sale seen in the near future.
Seems you post alot from this DEAD account, I just checked.
PS: I don't like snakes or spiders as a matter of fact.

Hate to say it, but the whole Punk fiasco put Mr. Riley on my 'do not
buy from under any circumstances' list. Hard to get on that list,
even harder to get *off* of it.

The other displays aren't "changing", but the BIP display looks wonky also.
What about that corner? Is it "changing" too?

George, So you say you only sent wrong pictures. So is your Spirit
auction for 9 THOUSAND dollars the wrong pictures and it is the
problem with the buyer because he got the wrong pictures ? !!!!!
YOUR A JERK.
Bill
You also claimed that the buyer must have switched the PF after the
purchase, and said time and time again that you DID NOT switch the pf
on the game.
You also said you NEVER save pictures. If this is so then how were
you able to send the wrong pictures of the Punk'd?
I will NEVER do business with you, and will warn everyone I know to
not do business with you. After seeing the Punk'd in person, and
sitting in on an impromptu trouble-shooting on it at PAGG, I will say
your reputation that you have earned for yourself is your own damn
fault.
Brian
I hate to pile om Geo to, But the Proof was put on the table about the
Punk game when the pictures were posted here, The same Cab showed up
with 2 different PFs & there's no way in hell he can say he didn't
swap that PF ! .
George, stick to E-Bay because you're about finished here.
FWIW, WestCoastSS had one of these listed a few months back for $
1200.00 .
Pin-Del,
cargpb28
Hey guys,Ted from Ont here.I have to say that I don't know this seller
but is he on glue?
Oh no. He just said the seller mistaken the pictures Del. That is
what he just said in his reply to me plus not only did he mistake
it....Sometimes you know ............"you can't please everyone all
the time"
You buy a game I send you the wrong pictures and you are
upset .....Come on. Here is my 9k toilet to sell you once I swap the
needed parts. Floater, bowl, Crap plunger....etc. Oh sorry please
look at the other pictures. I don't think it had the crap in
it....Sorry................You got the wrong pictures.....I shipped
you the loaded toilet bowl. 0)
Bill
LOL! When was the last time you saw one sell for anywhere near
$9K??? Book value is around $1K. As beaten up as that cabinet is,
I'd say it is in average condition at best. If you really want to get
$9K for Spirit, it better be NIB. Even NIB probably wouldn't get $9K
though...they made 1230 of them.
John
Who's doing the "I've Been Rileyed" tee shirts for the expo? I bet
you will sell a couple hundred of them. I know I need one for sure
based on the lies on my deal with him years ago.
John,
Just like the other Spirit that came up for sale here no long ago,
Neither seller would / could take pictures of the games turned on ,
Hmmm ?
I do have to say Shawns game had a cabinet 5Xs better than this one .
Knowing the history of these guy's I wouldn't buy from either .
What's worse is one of them could have put this behind him for a mear
$ 300.00 , Go figure ??
Pin-Del,

Guys in no way I'm defending Mr. Riley and his price for the machine
but I keep hearing stories that this only a 1k pin.... Really??? I've
been looking for 10+ years and I haven't seen anything close like
that, project or not....That 1250 number keeps being tossed around as
well...Isn't that slightly skewed with all the stories of the machines
being destroyed and exported overseas to who knows what fate? Maybe
the Gottlieb collectors out there can shed some input?
cheap spirits are out there - i sold 2 to somebody for i belive $400 2
or 3 years ago. he sold one of them for 1k and still has the other -
somebody would have to check my posts from years ago what i sold them
for, but it was either $400 or $600 for the pair. it was basically
what i got them for. they are hard to find just like rocky - but hey i
have had 3 rockys in 3 years now.
as for mr riley i used to sell him all my gott pinballs when i was
done with them until he insulted me once on a transaction for 3 games
- he thought i was flipping them and making $500 in 1 day, he was
wrong and he was man enough to apoligize, but i have not sold him a
game since as it was an insult to my integrity.
i actually only picked the games up for him as they were a great deal
from somebody in maine - then i paid a friend to pick them up and
bring them to me (well i met him on the highway 1 hour away), and i
did add $100 or $200 for my trouble, but it was 3 good gott for 1K. i
forget the names now, but they were all 600-800 games. one was surfin
sufari, another was the race game that only had side art on one side
(victory i think), and i think the 3rd one was bone busters if i
remember correctly.
who knows the exact details, i know i sold them for a lot more to a
local person after riley insulted me. anyway he did say he was sorry.
so you have to give him credit for that. and since then all the gotts
i sell go to somebody else. he got great deals from me.
thanks ed
Ed... I sent you an email.....
I'm confused. Mr. Pinball had an add for 19 gottliebs, all the sys 80a
except Krull for $35000 and the Spirit was part of this package.
Then the Spirit is listed separately at $9000 (which I figured was a
mistake until I see this post and the ebay listing). So, George, do
you
have two Spirits for sale or are you double selling the same machine?
Dan
Funny that it didn't sell. Maybe a more realistic price might help.
Hello Dan
Just to answer your question.
I have 3 complete machines, one is NOS, still in the box.
I took it out to remove the backglass and battery then but it back.
Thanks
for asking
Now that might be worth something. Sadly, I have a hard time believing
such a creature exists.
Michael
I sold him that Goin' Nuts 3 years ago for $4500.00
