Has anyone had any experience in buying pinballs from Juke Box Don in
Lakewood Colorado? I bought a TAF from him that was supposedly shopped.
It was delivered with a number of issues including a burnt out Thing
magnet coil. The machine was not close to anyone's idea of shopped. He
refused to fix the machine. Good case of buyer beware?

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. I've seen a few of his games,
no where near as described. I would say stay far away.
Are you local?

I haven't ever dealt with him myself, have heard mixed reviews about
him.
I would agree with Jerry on this one however.

PS: Jerry let's go hit Lyons soon, any weekend is good for me. :-D

I'd kill for a tall frosty Leroy right now.

Beers and pinball, I like the sound of that! I'm pretty busy for the
next few weeks but after that I'll be ready!

Do you suppose this TAF is the same one you reviewed over on the Yahoo
group three months ago, Jerry? Sounds like it.

I'm not sure, he turns a lot of games. The one I looked at with a
friend had a new bookcase. He had another in his garage he was going
to do next, that one had wierd colors. The yellow on the playfield
looked green, don't know what caused that. I saw a few of his other
games he was selling, as well as some he had at an auction, they all
showed the same (ahem) attention to detail.
In the review I tried to be objective, I would not recommend him.

Hopefully you used a credit card. If so do a charge back. If you used
Paypal with a credit card you can still do a charge back. The credit
card company will pull the money and Paypal will go after him.

Unfortunately, no: he would only accept cash.

If you're interested there is a local pinball news group in Denver,
it's at:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/frontrange_pinheads/
You can browse the threads, to post or look at for sale data base
you'll need a yahoo account.
A little late but a good place to get references for pin sellers.

All that guys stuff comes routed form a guy around here, you can find
decent pins in his routed stuff but the price Juke Box Don charges is
for collector quality stuff, not even close. If he lowered his prices
to a reasonable level for the quality of stuff he sells it would be
fine. Instead he charges way over price for well worn stuff. I had a
customer come in and look at several well priced pins (including a
super nice $1200 hurricane) and passed to go buy a $1700 Gilligans
Island from Jukebox don. Good luck with that. :P Do your research
before you buy, best advice.
