just a heads up for you guys with this project on your to do lists...

Don't make the same mistake(s) I did.

A couple of the T nuts are larger than the others. Before you go
banging them in, right out of the bag, look at your old PF and make
sure that you knock in the right size T nut for a given hole.

Before you slide everything over, check the size of the holes for the
through-playfield light sockets....the ones that need to be stapled on
both sides to affix the socket. Mine were too small. The tubular drum
sanding attachment on a dremel are the right size. If you can get that
drum through the hole, the socket will fit. They all needed to be
reamed out.

Same deal on the pop bumper holes....they are slightly smaller than
the plastic assemblies that go in there. Again, the round sanding drum
on a dremel worked fine, running it around the hole.

But all that sanding means a lot of dust, all over all those clean
assemblies and bundles... :(

And every time I stick my head under a Bally SS playfield with those
pop bumper assemblies, I have to ask...why did they stop making them
like that, and why didn't someone else copy that design? To be able to
change a skirt or a rod and ring with only a nutdriver and without a
soldering iron and staple gun and heat shrink for the leads is pretty
sweet.

Thanks for the heads-up, and I agree about Bally pop bumpers. Best
design ever...
