I loved his description of the t- shirt I bought. Something like " available in your favorite color, as long as your favorite color is olive green." It sold the t-shirt for me!

Yep. have them in every game I own.

1) Buy a game from someone or Stern
2) Discard dull/rusty/dented pinballs and put ooohhh_shiiinny balls in
it.

It might be just me, but I don't think Steve has as much of a sense of

C'mon Frank, doesn't almost everybody in this hobby know Steve? I
personally don't know Steve, but I've been lectured many times by
Steve, re: the part numbers, everytime I called and hoped that Gloria
would answer instead :) You know what else, every time I ended up
taking to Steve I learned something new and was not once offended. He
truly is one of those great guys in this hobby.

I got to visit him in NY as I was meeting with him and Mondial to get the rights for king of diamonds. For years I heard about the Soup Nazi Joke about him and there it was in the center of his office.

A picture of him with the Parts Nazi Logo under him and the saying "You donot have the parts Number! NO PARTS FOR YOU.

I laughed so hard I never forget that. I have know Steve since the early 80's. He is the best in pinball. I hold the record of talking to him on the phone for almost 2 hours one night.

To me the most fun there is in pinball is spend dinner with Steve Or Tim Arnold going over the history pinball. I missed the shows of the 80's and 90's. It was fun in those days.

Steve was very missed last year at the Allentown show. Everyone made
their way to the back left corner looking for the paper bags. He made
me ( gave me the courage ) to look up each part number, very helpful
in a hobby of a zillion parts. Sorry Terry to go off topic, please
everyone continue discussing Terry's shiny balls.

This is funny. Seriously though, Terry's "ooohhh_shiiiiny" pinballs
are the best value out there, IMO, considering their high quality,
reasonable price, and the trademark "superb" packing (individually)
and prompt reliable shipping! Pinball Life is another class act, IMO.

I have Pinball Life's highly polished balls in all of my games, and they
are the best value out there for highly polished balls. Pinball Life is
awesome, great products, prices and customer service.

I've seen them, I've held them in my hands right in front of my face. I've rolled them around in my fingers inside the sack they come in. I've gazed upon them fondly and I do have to say, Terry really does have nice Balls! :)

Steve is the easiest guy in the world to deal with, once you figure out
that your job is to tell him what you are working on, what you THINK you
need, and then, shut up. And let him go. Works perfectly for me.

The guy has forgotten more than I'll ever know about EMs, so why would I
even dream of arguing or even contradicting him?

But if that doesn't work for you, you can always email. They are very
good about answering your emails and if they think you're on the wrong
track, they'll tell you.

It takes all kinds to make the world go around, and personally I enjoy
Steve and I'm grateful for everything that he does. I guess I'm
fortunate, everyone in this hobby that I have bought parts from has been
very easy to work with and more than willing to help me.

Back to shiny balls, I gotta get me some of those. Look fantastic. I
was looking around the website, and they sell a two pack of playfield
glasses for about 70 bills. Are you kidding me? Glass shops around
here charge me that for 1 glass. It just so happens I have two games
that need new glass so an order for those (and shiny balls) is coming
up.

Has anyone ever bought a p/f glass from them? Any shipping problems?

Got the two pack a while back, needed both sheets in a pinch. I was quoted
$75 per sheet from the one local that responded to a request for quote.

For Terry's shipment: The corners and middle edges were packed in a
purpose-made plastic bag with expanding foam inside. The voids in the box
were filled with quite a bit of large-bubble wrap, the same stuff that Terry
uses for all shock sensitive stuff. I think it shipped UPS. They punched a
nice hole in the box. Whatever went through never made it to the glass.
Both pieces were beautiful.

Betson used to carry glass but they closed their old location here in
Baltimore some time ago. It wasn't until two or three months after I
ordered from Pinball Life that I found out they simply moved to another
industrial park. Their price per sheet is $28 but shipping might blow the
cost out of the water. They also have a limited supply of Bally/Williams
wide body glass and some Safecracker-sized glass.

Thanks for the info, Pete. Even with shipping, it's still about 50
bucks less than if I buy the pieces locally.

Is getting an ass chewing from Steve a right of passage in the pinball
world? He chewed me out one day when I told him I was using windex to
clean playfields and he called me to yell at me when I forgot to send
him a check for some parts. Funny though he chews you out like your a
kid but he also show respect at the same time. I dont know him but I
think he is a nice guy and a asset to people who own pinballs.

Yes, it's a rite of passage. I haven't got chewed out in maybe 15
years. I don't always have part numbers, either, but maybe I am
grandfathered in on that rule. and I have NEVER known what my customer
number is.

Scott McClure has it precisely correct...tell Steve what you are
working on, what you want to accomplish, and STFU. It goes real smooth
if you follow that plan. :)

I haven't been chewed out, but I've only dealt with him a few times and
I had part numbers except one time. I called for a space shuttle coin
door coin switches. He didn't have them and told me there were two
different setups used on SS. Then I heard all about the games history
and how it was one of the games that got pinball back in the mainstream
in the 80's and saved williams at the time. It was a good call even w/o
getting the parts I was looking for.

Oh I never said he was wrong for yelling at me on both accounts. I
misplaced the bill and I just forgot but I paid him as soon as he called
and he sent me my stuff the next time and didnt say a word about it. I
also learned about Novus 1 and 2.

8*10's of Larry Thomas in his Soup Nazi get out. He autographed them
w/ whatever I wanted, so I asked him to put "No Pinball for You!". I
sent one to Steve Young as a "thank you" and I was told he actually
enjoyed it. I have one proudly displayed in my office at work.

I design embedded controllers for a major automotive supplier. We are
always provided an inadequate supply of hardware samples to perform
testing/verification etc. Recently, I send out an email with image of
the Soup Nazi with the caption: "No PV's for you". (PV being process
validation units/samples) All the engineers loved it - management less
so. ;-)

I should print a few off and post 'em around - uh, may be not. ;-)
